It was a surprise for me when I got there because I didn't know it was a hotel/school. The hotel is really nice, it's an old building (150/200 years old as I was told). Their rooms go from 3 star rooms to 5 star rooms. The 3 star rooms are designed by the students and the 4 and 5 star rooms are designed by other hotels. I had a really nice stay, was really well looked after, everyone went above and beyond although I was a bit of a pain. I even asked if it was possible for someone to give me a tour of the hotel and go through the history of it and they immediately sent a student to do it, I believe his name was Jael, an Israeli name. He was really good and knowledgeable. Also a special mention to Mark vin Zwarm (not sure if it is the correct spelling), he was really trying to get me something to eat even though it was out of the restaurants service time. Also the female student that took me to the room which I didn't get the name, but she was really friendly as well. Overall, a good hotel with good service, with lots of option to choose from to eat (5 restaurants, including fine dining) really close to the center with amazing people looking after you. Definitely recommend and would go there again.

This teaching hotel is run by students learning all aspects of the hotel and restaurant business, supervised by their tutors. I have stayed here many times and find it a comfortable and convenient place to stay. The building itself is lovely - previously a convent or monastary. Plenty of parking if you are travelling by car, short walk (about 5 mins) to busses. Breakfast is modest but has everything you need - you can have an egg cooked to order. The rooms are clean and there is generally a personal note or small attention left by housekeeping. If you have the time I recommend reserving an evening meal, where the students prepare and serve 3 or more courses, everything to a good standard, generally with some aspect of the meal prepared or specially served at table. There is a bar which is open until 10pm or so. This hotel is reasonably priced compared to other options in Tilburg and you get great value for money, with the students doing their best to make sure everything is in order.

When I booked this hotel, my colleagues laughed and told me it was a hotel school. The rate was very attractive so I did not know what to expect. The building is a beautiful old monastry with a big free parking attached.

On arrival I found lots of young people at the reception desk, check in was easy and quick and I was taken to my room personally. Everyone was very friendly, cheer-and helpful. To get a table for dinner you need to book in advance, same for lunch. There is not much choice for dinner nearby.

Well, the room was very spacious and clean. The light was not very good, so you can only read at the desk, which is a bit of a drag, as there is a sofa in the corner you cannot use for reading... The bathroom was quite small, but functional - Novotel style, so lots of plastic. The toilet was seperate and - being in January - icecold. I left the door open, so it got better, but still, this was the weakest spot about my stay.

The bed was new and very good. Breakfast is small, but with a decent choice and a very good banana smoothie!

All in all a very good service/ price ratio, but you have to take into account that the lovely students do make some mistakes in service - they are learning. When you accept this, you will enjoy your stay for sure!

I booked 2 days just before my stay so I took advantage of a very good price to have : big room, very clean bathroom, fresh breakfast. The place is quiet and confortable. Employees are nice and helpful. I deeply recommand this hotel.

Welcomed by the teacher, strict and little stiff but friendly. Nice room, great bed. Had a good nightsleep. The breakfast is very special. Tasty and fresh coffee served by the cup. The students are very friendly. I would stay here again.

Totally run by students, learning for a job in hospitality. It's a beautiful place (an old monastery) and it has nice rooms. Also perfect for a delicious dinner at low cost. Students are calling the shots in the restaurants and kitchens too!
