Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've stayed in the center and this is better. Easy access to attractions--by amazing public transit or, better, by bicycle--but out of the way and quiet. Free bicycles were handy. Our suite was well equipped in all respects. Be sure to request a water view. Plus we enjoyed the immediate neighborhood more than we expected to.

Wow!! What a hotel! From the moment I walked in I was in awe! A welcoming warm reception greets you as soon as you enter and a smell of sandalwood. The lobby is beautiful and is incredibly stylish. The receptionists that met us were incredibly polite and friendly and gave us a full breakdown of what the hotel offered. The room itself was a studio apartment and was equipped with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Pots, pans, cutlery are all there for you. The room was once again stunningly designed with my gf (who loves interior design) twirling round the world with excitement! The hotel is just down the road from a very handy super market where the locals are incredibly polite and helpful as well a lovely bar we had drinks at on our second day. It takes about 14 mins with Uber to get to the centre of Amsterdam at night and cost us around 16 euros. We preferred being here than central Amsterdam as the hotel is extremely quiet and surrounded by beautiful waterways, houses and flats. The hotel offers free bike rental to get you into central Amsterdam and you can also take the bikes on the ferries. We were quoted around 10 euros for 3 hours bike rental so were very happy to get this as part of our hotel stay. The spa and gym at the hotel is also excellent and would def keep a regular gym user happy. The spa also contains a sauna and steam room which is booked in 30 mins slots to give you privacy. However the thing that makes this hotel exceptional is the staff who are the nicest people we have ever met in the hospitality industry! Each night when we came in we were greeted by Michereldo (so so helpful and one of funniest guys have ever met), Amadou ( extremely polite and talented digital artist) and Amien ( charming, polite and engaging! These 3 just made the trip even better and defiantly deserve raises! Overall this is one of the best hotels my gf and I have stayed at and it’s the main reason I have written such a detailed review as it surpassed all expectations.

Very nice hotel, staff made an effort to help when needed. Super easy bus ride to the main station. Great view to the canals, soundproof windows, comfortable bed, terrible prickly sofa that we couldn’t sit on, kitchen and appliances served us well, low lights. we had to ask to take out full garbage cans and to go to the reception to ask for new toilet paper because we got only one roll that was finished. Same for coffee refills. The room was not vacuumed, housekeeping made the beds, changed trash cans and towels. We spent four nights in the hotel, got one time of housekeeping , the second time was at 5 pm while we were in the room- a change of trash cans and coffee refill (first time we got coffee creamers that we were not given at arrival). We had a good stay, but would love more attention to room maintenance.

The hotel is amazing, and was nice compared to other hotels in Amsterdam, but some services were just over controlled, The idea of requesting or wanting any thing should be through the reception, I have used the garage and to go in or out I should contact the reception, its very limited, and wether they answer immediately or not, you can make the room key open the garage gate. Another matter is the room cleaning was also limited and not sufficient enough for the stay, and everything should be asked for and not done easily. The laundry service, supposedly it should be taken from the room easier and more convenient for the guests than they bring down to the reception. Over all the stay was not bad, and would consider coming back.

Really enjoyed our stay here. From the outset the team were inviting and accomodating, allowing us to rest on arrival after 24 hours of flying. The rooms are incredibly creative and inviting. There is everything you could need. We stayed for 2 nights and even left our passports by accident, the team quickly notified us and returned these to us. It was incredible service and having a restaurant attached to the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinners was amazing. The location is perfect for those looking to be away from the hustle and bustle. However, getting a taxi or complimentary bike from the hotel will see you in the city in 5-10 minutes. Thanks for an amazing stay in Amsterdam guys!

I stayed at this property May 11-15, 2023. When I checked in I was made to wait nearly 2 hrs—citing the room was not ready; although the 6 couples or groups I watched check in before and after me all went up straight to their rooms. After pointing this out to the reception desk, I was then miraculously assigned a room that was available. I was originally assigned studio room 108. It is above the entrance to the hotel and lobby check-in. It only has one window with natural light—while the other two windows face the lobby and restaurant below. Who is going to have windows to their bedroom open facing an entire lobby and restaurant of people down below? Due to the VERY loud door shutting constantly (as it’s above the one entrance to the hotel) day and night—I requested to move after the first day. They were ‘gracious’ enough to accommodate and move me. I was moved to studio room 407. This was certainly an upgrade in conditions—I had several windows with natural light now and didn’t experience any of the noise from the previous studio. Unfortunately this studio had no dining table or chairs (just the coffee table in front of the couch. Where are you supposed to sit and eat the meals you prepare in the kitchen? There was no way to open any windows as well. The property details mention they have ‘smart TVs’ but let me assure you that’s misleading. You have access to YouTube and some random cooking or news apps that have preloaded 15-30 min online programs. Any attempt to watch the few movies I was able to find ended in the movie stopping within the first 15 mins and exiting the app. Don’t expect to have access to any standard ‘Smart TV’ apps like Netflix, Spotify, Hulu, HBO, etc. There was a power outage for 8 hrs on my last night there (7:50pm-4am). We were originally told power would be restored within 2 hrs (before sunset)—but that clearly didn’t happen. Rooms could NOT be locked the entire time the power was out. Anyone could enter ANY room, as there are no internal locks on doors—just room key card entry to push a door open. This meant when the power went out all doors could be opened by simply pushing the door. I never fell asleep during this period as I’m a solo traveler, pitch black hallways and no way to keep anyone out. I felt unsafe. I finally fell asleep after the power was restored at 4am. Wi-fi wasn’t restored until 7:30am. When I went to checkout the next day, the elevators were still not working—at 10am. I had to carry my luggage—solo—down 4 flights of stairs. No compensation, partial refund or even an apology for the inconvenience and inability to use any of the paid services or amenities the last night was ever offered. Was charged twice for city taxes and tourist fee—but this was fixed by the time I left and refunded back to my card. For all the reasons listed above and for the price of these expensive studios, I would NOT recommend this place, nor would I ever stay there again. Nice staff overall, but this poor experience on my first time stay means it will also be my last time.

An apartment style hotel with separate bedroom and a kitchen area – a brilliant concept that was a home from home for us. We appreciated the space with plenty of room compared to usually cramped city centre hotel rooms. All made the more pleasant with the modern furniture, kitchen facilities and ware which we used . And a bed with the right amount of firmness. All finished off with good, understated taste in décor. We could have used the bicycles on offer to us which would have been fun, but we found the buses from the not too far road easy enough to zip in and out to the city. The Important ingredients were there for us ; the space, cleanliness, and charm, but also the staff were pleasant and helpful to a fault. So, when you add the venue and view across vast expanse of the water it creates the charm that draws you to Amsterdam.

Even though this hotel is in a residential area outside the historic center, we were very happy with our choice. We particularly appreciated the fact that (good) bicycles were available free of charge. This way it was easy to reach any location with a short bike ride. Also an advantage, the nearby ferry at Pontsteiger goes directly to the hip NDSM area on the north shore. The room was just fabulous, very spacios, good design, excellent bed and a magnificient view of the IJ river. We spent more time in our room than usually on such trips. We used the "plant a tree instead of cleaning our room" sign on two occasions, but the counter at the reception never moved, so we're not really sure how this works. The main lobby is one of the strong points of the hotel, there is a great atmosphere and it's always full of young people. We loved having a drink there now and then. Some drinks were excellent, but not all matched our expectations. Rather amateurish service, like in most bars and restaurants of Amsterdam, but always very friendly. There were always fresh fruits available at the lobby. We used the wellness area (sauna and steam bath) on several occations and enjoyed it very much. It is rather functional, without cachet, and lacks hooks for towels next to sauna, steam bath, and shower. But it has a great view on the river (it the curtains are not closed). You have to reserve in advance, this way it's never crowded. The best supper we had on this trip was in a nearby restaurant, Morris & Bella, which is recommended in the hotel guide. It's a 5 min. walk by foot, and really worth it! Amazing vegetable flavours and a very inventive menu. Check my review for more details. We also spent a nice moment with excellent drinks and snacks at the extravagant REM bar at the IJ river, also a short walk from the hotel. Thanks to the whole crew of Boat & Co. for this wonderful stay!

This was such a lovely stay. The rooms and entire hotel is decorated to a very high standard. Just little things such as lovely bathroom products ans a nice selection of drinks in the fridge free of charge. In the lobby was bowls of free fruit. The bar and restaurant was excellent.
