The Manor Amsterdam is known as the most magnificent hotel in Amsterdam's east end, located on the Linnaeusstraat. Where the outstanding hotel The Manor once served as a civilian hospital and district office, it currently serves as a full-service urban boutique hotel with lovely and large rooms. What more could you want for than unique conference rooms, a modern hotel bar, and a location in Amsterdam's most lively neighbourhood By tram, bus or bike, you’ll be in the center of the city in 7 minutes: Dam Square and the van Gogh museum, for example, are only 4 kilometers away!

The Manor Amsterdam secures its reputation as a charming destination with its stylish and immaculate rooms that guests have called out for their comfort and superior bathrooms. Nestled in a convenient location, the hotel offers bike rentals and a variety of transit options, though some visitors mention the occasional lapse in housekeeping. The staff garners admiration for their dedication to service, despite occasional inconsistencies.
While the rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness and amenities, a few travelers have noted issues with temperature control and noise. Overall, guests regard The Manor Amsterdam as a good value for the experience offered.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed for three nights Wednesday to Saturday room 108 one of the superior rooms with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel on the 1st floor,
Very clean ,with bottled water and plenty of tea and coffee in the room and restocked daily .
Bathroom large wet room style shower and plenty of towels again changed daily .
King-size bed lots of pillow choice .
The balcony was great to watch life go by enjoying a beer in the late September sunshine .
Had breakfast one morning ,good cold selection ,and coked eggs and bacon not sure it's worth 17 euros ?
Great location the local area has lots or food and bars try Beppi pizza and burgers and shake a short stroll away .
Walked up to the windmill and local market and also a jumbo supermarket within 5 mins walk .
Team stops are local and 15 mins into the centre we used the tram app 3 days unlimited on trans and metro no issues .
Great location ,great hotel will be returning.
Thanks Ryan & Laura

We loved The Manor! Beautiful building and even more stunning was the decor. Clean, spacious suite with an equally clean bathroom. A lovely space to come back to relax in after a day seeing the city. Although it was a little further out than we might like to have stayed, the Amsterdam Muiderpoort train station is a few minutes walk and we hopped on the train to Amsterdam Centraal every morning to go into the centre and back for only a few euros each. The bed was HUGE and so comfortable! Staff were nice and check-in and out was quick and easy. And best of all on arrival we were upgraded to a bigger suite for no extra charge due to being picked as “guest of the day”. Cannot fault one thing about it this hotel.

The hotel had a wow factor as soon as you pull up. The young lady on the desk was very nice & informative. The hotel is just outside the city but a tram stops outside, number 19 2 stops change to 14 and it takes you directly into the city. A matter of 15 minutes away. Get a tram ticket for €8 for 24 hours.
Our room was lovely clean & comfortable, a massive big bed & crisp white sheets.
Walk in shower. Kettle & coffee machine in the room & a good hairdryer, tv
Breakfast was continental & you can also order food from the menu. Coffee tea & juice to help yourself. All very nice. Our waitress was lovely.
We were in room 212 the window didn’t seem to be fitted and when it was windy it whistled, which was annoying during the night. This was our only negative.

The place is well mentained, in a very good location, with Oosterpark nearby, short walk from public transportation and 35-45 min walk from city center. Everybody was helpful and provided with every information necessary. From renting bikes (from Hotel parking lot) to bringing and iron machine to the room, all was facilitated in a friendly manner.
The only small issues concerned the noise, especially at night, for the rooms (as mine) located towards the main boulevard.

From a service perspective, I’m very grateful for this hotels’ staff. First, we got sick before our original, non refundable booking, and they let us move it to a new date. Second, they allowed us to check in at 9am the day we arrived from a red eye flight was which was much appreciated and we are so grateful for that.
Now for the room… we stayed in the third floor of not the main building. The hallways and room smell like body odor. The room is small which is understandable for a city, but it was dark and the lights are awkward to use make it feel almost claustrophobic. I hate the wall to wall carpeting in the room . Bathroom also leaves zero sound to the imagination, if anything, it amplifies the sound. Even the toilet lid in the bathroom and the garbage can are loud in there.
Location and neighborhood and great, but if they try to stick you in the “other building”, don’t go there, or at least confirm no wall to wall carpeting

To start with: the hotel is not close to city center, although you can take 2 trams almost in front of the hotel.
It’s a long walk if you’re planning to explore the city by foot but doable (we did it every day).
The staff is not that friendly, but provided us all the information we asked.
The room is small, filled with carpets and paper wall, huge curtains, and I had an allergic reactions due to the amount of dusty inside the room. I couldn’t sleep well during the night, started to cough and sneeze.
The bathroom has a good size but there was no heating inside, and it was January, for Christ sake. It was cold and rainy.
I also missed the emergency security cord inside the bathtub.
The shower was terrible. The water’s temperature fluctuated all the time - hot, cold, warm, and the pressure was very low.
The bathrooms’s door is made of translucent but opaque glass and during the night if someone went to the bathroom, the light disturbs.
The breakfast was very good - one of the best things about this hotel: Benedict eggs and croissant. Not a great variety of fruits, coffee machine (the cappuccino or espresso made to order was not included).
The restaurant inside the hotel serves a good pasta and cold beer.

Such a nice hotel. Rooms were spacious and relatively clean. However, shower was unpredictable and would suddenly go boiling hot. Also the lady on reception when we arrived was really rude which was off putting. This hotel is about 30 mins from the centre on a tram so i would suggest staying somewhere much closer to the centre. Overall, this hotel was nice and had a really comfy bed and pillows. I would recommend if you dont mind being quite far away from the centre.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Manor. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a good range of breads, cereals, cold meats, cheese, sausages, bacon, eggs, waffles, and more .... so plenty of choice. The location is ideal if you don't want to stay in the heart of the city centre, we purchased a multi day GVB transport ticket which allows unlimited travel on the busses, trams, metro and ferry within a set time period. The transport is very reliable and a trip into the centre of the city is only 15 to 20 minutes.

The hotel is very close to the tram station. Within a 15 min ride you can reach the center with tram no. 19 - very convenient. Entrance and exterior of the hotel is nice. Professional receptionists. Unfortunately we got a room on the ground floor and we first had to walk trough the bar in order to reach our room. Design of the room is kind of strange. Since the room was on the ground floor and there are no barriers to the side street, the windows were painted over. Ergo: No view! There was only a small ventilation window above which could be opened with a rod and over which the little light fell in. Never ever this room again! The hotel was booked out thus we were not able to change rooms. Bathroom is tiny and only one person can stay in it. Price-performance ratio not coherent!
The hotel has bicycles for rent and we wanted to reserve some for the next day, but the receptionist told us that we cannot reserve them upfront. Hm.. the internet tells us a different story. So we rented the bicycles in the town center, but saw that all bicycles in the hotel were still available the next day! Poor service!
We parked our car in a parking garage nearby. There are also parking spaces available directly at the hotel, but at a much higher rate.

+1
A lovely historic hotel that used to be a civilian hospital built in the 1800s.
PROS: (1) The staff is extremely friendly. One of the guys that works in the restaurant literally walked us to the Muiderport train station around the corner because we were very anxious about making sure we got on the correct train in order to get to the airport on time. (2) Breakfast was really good. There was a wide array of items to choose from: eggs, pancakes, various breads, cereals, fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausage, cheeses, various juices, coffee, cappuccino, etc. (3) The room was large with different decor in each room, although our headboard was weird with naked butts by the famous photographer Spencer Tunick. The hotel clerk said it was the most popular room. It was definitely a conversation piece. (5) Very clean.
CONS: (1) The location was a distance from the heart of the city but it is located on a tram line to get you to the touristy parts of the city. (2) There is nothing to do in the area of the hotel (no good restaurants or cool night life, no stores other than a small convenience store across the street. There's a couple of little restaurants down the street, but nothing to brag about. (3) The bathtub in somewhat of a hazard if you're a short person like myself. It's too high. The design of the shower door (it's a half door) causes water to leak on the floor when showering and the tub is slippery when there is soap in it. Husband and I both nearly slipped in the tub on 2 separate occasions. (4) Not that we came to watch tv, but when in the room like to have it on. It wouldn't work half the time.
I would have enjoyed this hotel more had it been located in a different area.

Hello Mark,
Great that you'll be visiting our hotel in the upcoming weeks! The distance from the Manor Amsterdam to Schiphol Airport and visa versa is 24 minutes. Hope that this answered your question. Have a lovely stay at our sweet hotel!
Rijksmuseum is a 15 minute transit trip from the Manor. Transit service in Amsterdam is excellent, again using the 9292 app you can easily figure out which combination of tram/subway/train options is fastest/economical; Amsterdam is such a walkable city too - don't need to worry about getting exactly to your location via transit as it is very pleasant to walk portions of your commute. As well, the "safest" feeling city I've been to, I think.
When I stayed there early June you would fill out a slip the evening before and there would be a set breakfast with coffee, juice, bread cheese ham egg, croissant, butter and jam.
Air conditioning does not allow you to control the temperature; normally the settings will be high, medium low, etc., whereas climate control allows you to set the temperature. Rather like a car, some have air conditioning while the latest ones have climate control.
