Okay, this is the best of all worlds; the luxury of a first class hotel, the friendliness of a good bed and breakfast, and the convenience of an excellent aparthotel. The rooms are stunningly good, ours comprising of a bedroom, ensuite, and lounge including a kitchen area. The hotel was in a lovely area, near not only to the museums,... More

This is an absolutely lovely place to stay and extremely convenient to walk around the museums and places of interest in Amsterdam. We stayed in the Vermeer Suite and enjoyed the hotel/apart/BnB feel of the room. Breakfast was amazing and helped to set us up for the day's walking and sightseeing. The staff were friendly, helpful and went out of... More

This is a really nice small hotel in central Amsterdam. It is conveniently located and yet still quiet. So friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We stayed in the Van Gogh suite, which was spacious, comfortable, fantastic bathroom with rain shower, nespresso machine and mini fridge, and best part was sunny terrace overlooking gardens. Near the park, museums, lots of cafes, shopping,... More

Excellent accommodation in a lovely area of Amsterdam. Delightful helpful staff. Stayed in Rembrandt suite which was beautiful, comfortable and cosy - absolute luxury, gorgeous bathroom with underfloor heating. Within walking distance of centre and tram stop 2minutes away. Cannot fault this hotel

Close to the major art museums, located in a fabulous district with excellent restaurants, cafes and shops. A real haven from what can be a hectic city. Only a few rooms, but beautiful, steep stairs and no lift, but an experience well worth it. Great staff. Trams at front door. Easy cab ride to airport.

I read many of the reviews for Museum Suites and after a wonderful stay have to agree! The location is amazing-a beautiful neighbourhood close to the museums, transport links and a range of fantastic restaurants and cafes in the local area. For us, just wandering around the local streets, admiring the buildings and stopping at great little coffee was better... More

We stayed 3 nights for my birthday in the Rembrandt suite. It was a lovely room spotlessly clean. It is just a short walk to the Van Gogh museum and the tram stop number 2 is just outside. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. It's a lovely place and I would highly... More

A beautiful room and bathroom, great and attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us, location is fantastic - a little out from the city centre but really close to the museum district, VondelPark, a lovely little vibrant shopping and eating community, on the #2 tram right into the city and also just a 5 minute walk from the aircoach... This was a lovely place, suituated in a beautiful part of the city with good links for public transport and easy walking distance to the main sights. The stairs to the room are steep so be aware and we were there on one of the hottest days of the year so without AC it was not possible to keep the... More

Our friends stayed here on a previous trip and so it came highly recommended. It's located in an area that is a close walk or tram to the heart of the city, but far enough out of it that you get to experience a taste of life away from all the tourists. I've seen complaints of noise in other reviews,... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
