Really nice place to stay. Would recommend highly, although there are a lot of stairs to climb so not ideal for those that would find that difficult. Walking distance to Dam Square and all central areas. Very clean, friendly, and great location & views :)

The most recent reviews are accurate. We stayed in the canal view room and it's charming and cosy. Yes, there are lots of stairs but it's Amsterdam. Yohan even carried one of our bags up! He was very gracious and welcoming and a wealth of information. Would highly recommend it.

Met by Ray on arrival and shown around. He had a really useful app to download to improve your experience and provide an offline map. Penthouse apartment was beautifully decorated and provided a perfect base for our trip. Would recommend this location to anyone! Only note to make though- if stairs are difficult for you this is not the place...

We spent 3 days in this guesthouse. We had a warm welcome from Johan, the landlord, who gave us many tips for our stay. The location is very convenient, close from museums, restaurants, and places to visit. Yet in a quiet street with nice canal. Our apartment was spacious, clear, clean and well equipped, with a mezzanine room, and a...

We stayed here for 3 nights this month and thought that the penthouse was absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful apartment and great view over the canal! We loved the location. Will definitely stay here again when we return in the future!

I HAVE NOT STAYED HERE but I booked to stay and have had nothing but trouble since. They have attempted to charge my card for one nights stay when the booking confirmation clearly states the full price is charged one day prior to arrival. All correspondence I've had with them they have been very rude and have cancelled my booking....

Just got back from a great weekend in Amsterdam. We stayed in the canal view room and it was perfect. Really clean and beautifully decorated with great views and a great location. It really is worth the money. Johan was very welcoming and greeted us on arrival, offered us advice during our stay and was one door knock away if...

This is a room in a house on the Prinsengracht canal, which is a good location between downtown and the museum area. Owner lives downstairs but was unobtrusive and helpful when we had questions. Rooms are beautiful, and overlook the canal. Recent removation including an amazing bathroom in the room we were in. Much better value than a hotel for...

What a rude and ungracious host.I'm not sure why this person is in the hospitality business. Spend your money somewhere else.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and the location is wonderful near the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums and restaurants. The room was very modern and clean. There are 54 steps to the top where the two rooms are located. One has a canal view and the other a view of the back of other canal homes but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the absolute city centre of Amsterdam, at one of the main canals, Prinsengracht, around the corner from the Rijksmuseum, the Van Goghmuseum, shopping area Leidse Straat and nightlife area Leidse Plein, stands this impressive monument (built around 1850 and renovated in 2009) in which the owner lives himself and rents out two spacious guestrooms, each with a private bathroom and a mezzanine where the bed is at. The two rooms are situated on the top floor in an ancient canal house which was completely renovated in 2008/2009. Both rooms have a beautiful view; from the canal view-room one looks on the water of the canal and the historical buildings across the street; from the roof terrace-room one looks at the towers of the Rijksmuseum with its impressive art collection of Dutch painters. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom; the canalview room has a small kitchen and a comfortable bathtub and the roof terrace room has a walk-in shower. Both rooms have a double bed sofa so are ideal for a small family or a group of friends. ... more   less
