Initially, we had some difficulty finding the hotel, as the entrance is a door between two food outlets - however, it was like walking into a tardis and we were pleasantly surprised when shown to our room. It certainly has the WOW factor - the entire hotel has - faultless, spotless and amazing. Although it was on the top floor,...

Very close to the train station. Easy access to all our adventures in Amsterdam. The room was TINY (no closet, no dresser for unpacking, no mirror except in bathroom) and very dark, but clean. I had room #221 near where they store your luggage and it was fairly noisy as the heavy door was opened and slammed throughout the night....

Thank you for this review. It's good to read you enjoyed your stay, the friendly staff and our breakfast in Café Stock. Thank you for pointing out the noise of the heavy door from our luggage room, we will take a look at that. We hope to see you back soon. Kind regards, Hotel The Exchange Team

Stayed here for an extended weekend in early march, the hotel & service provided from staff is superb. Stayed in a twin room, at times it did feel a little cramped in the room, however the beds at the hotel are so comfortable!! Nice size TV in the room & decent size safe to lock away passports & valuables. Check-in...

We stayed here for three nights in one of the 4 star rooms. Initially they put us in a room with two single beds, but after letting them know we had requested a double bed they transferred us to another room (luckily they had one available). The room was large, very clean, and the bed was so extremely comfortable that...

This is a great hotel and we would certainly recommend it. We will be staying here again should we return to Amsterdam. We arrived in Amsterdam under the impression that we would return to Newcastle the next day (part of the cruise package) but complications meant that we needed to stay in Amsterdam for the night. The hotel exchange was...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
