Great location, and great welcome, but I have to say that the "single room" I was staying in felt more like a reorganised closet than an actual bedroom, small, cramped, and massively overheated. I also had the misfortune of being woken at 2am by a screaming and cackling crowd which I might have expected in some of the morecentrl locations,... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with our whole stay, we had no issues at all. The only very minor thing I'd point out was the shower was a little poor in performance and was mounted far too down for me to shower under it so just held it in the end. The... More

Arrived before check in time but they had my room ready and available. Everyone I dealt with from front desk staff to breakfast waiters were very nice and attentive, The room was a single but very comfortable. If your in Amsterdam for the museums it is perfectly located less than a five minute walk from the big three, Rijksmuseum, Stedelik,... More

This hotel is at walking distance from museums, concert hall and the smart shops of Amsterdam. In a pretty tree-lined street the hotel slightly tired, our room was a little smaller than usual and the en-suite needed a little up-dating but my wife and I enjoyed our four nights there and were able to walk to most places we wished... I have stayed 20 years at Bilderberg Jan Leyken Hotel, and I plan to come back next year. Good location in a quite and nice area near to museums and shopping. Good and clean rooms, very good breakfast and a small cozy bar.

If you are a museum-goer this is a great place to stay. Three major museums just around the corner. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms are smallish, as they often are in Europe but have everything you need. There is a cosy breakfast room and a small bar and lounge- quite enough for a city stay. The tram stop... More

You can't beat the location - blocks away from the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum, and just around the corner from a prime shopping area plus very walkable to the Jordaan and other areas of interest. We walked everywhere from this centrally located hotel. Our room was on the back of the hotel, overlooking the quiet neighborhood. It was comfortable,... More

Stayed here for two days with my mum and brother. The room was spacious enough even with the spare bed, and the shower was pretty nice. The overall design of the hotel is quite modern and elegant, the reception staff was particularly friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, a nice quiet street in the museum district, close to a... More

The hotel is right by the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum but the road it's on is incredibly quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately we went when there were building works happening all along the road but really it didn't effect us at all despite our room being on the ground floor. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable and had tea... More

God, clean small hotel in the museum district. Me restaurant but good bar and nibbles served. Breakfast rudimentary but sufficient. Would stay again. Road outside is being relaid at the moment and canal worms has clouded the nearest boat embarkation point. All will be sorted in a few weeks.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
