Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great fun stay. Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed my stay . Small Boutique Hotel vibes with loads of character ! Can’t fault it - and would 100% stay again. Room had everything you need and was nice and quiet ! Close to everything .. what a city ! 100% order the burger from the restaurant too !! Delicious

I am afraid this hotel needs a serious makeover. Very shabby and tired. Annoying rooms with nowhere to put anything. Disappointing in this day and age not to have a coffee machine in a room. Was recommended by friends but ultimately it wasn’t a great stay.

Absolutely brilliant. From beginning to end, everything about this hotel experience was just excellent. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and it was exactly what I was looking for business wise. The food was excellent, service was fast and personable. The rooms were clean and really well maintained. 100% recommended.

The location in the middle of the „9-streets“ is top. We liked the style and the atmosphere also at the „Lottis“ very much and the breakfast was delicious. Our room (Biggy) was big and stylish. We missed nothing…

I received a warm welcome by a professional team who were so helpful and going an extra mile on all my requests. I had one of the best room overlooking the canal and the room was spotless with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The location is in the best are of town and easily accessible to most attractions on foot. I look forward to visiting Hoxton again soon.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. The restaurant is a bit expensive but most of all it is crowded with people who are not guests at the hotel. So it’s difficult to find a seat and chill when you want to. And that’s a real shame and quite annoying actually.

Hi Karin! Thank you so much for your feedback. We're happy you enjoyed our central location and friendly team. Our restaurant, Lotti's, might get busy at times; therefore, we always recommend making a reservation when you wish to dine with us. However, if you can't find a spot, you can always approach us, and we will do our utmost to find and reserve a spot for you in our lobby/lounge area. Please let us know once you decide to visit us again, and we will do our best to fully meet your expectations :) Best, The Hox Team x

Stayed here the night before our triumphant return to Amsterdam for my company's Credit Trends conference series. Full disclosure: this hotel is too young & trendy for me. But that notwithstanding, the staff were courteous and helpful throughout, even if I did ask the odd 'old person' question. The location is really good for central Amsterdam - easily walkable from the train station, but also far enough in that you can get to the Rijksmuseum and beyond pretty easily too. It's situated on one of the canal streets that the City is famous for, with all of the charm that entails. The ground floor is a sort of restaurant/cafe area, which can be a bit misleading (and is probably where I felt oldest). But the hotel itself has decent sized rooms that are well set out - mine had a king bed with plenty of space around it too. The vibe and decor is quite modern/chic (or at least what I think that means), so there was a rack for hanging clothes but no wardrobe, etc. It's not perfect - the walls were a bit thin when revelers return late at night, and the wifi a bit patchy. My personal test: there are no ironing boards in rooms, you have to ask. But I am not sure British chaps travelling on business are their normal clientele!

The service at The Hoxton is always second to none, on top of that the rooms are cool and functional. If you get an upgrade into the old part of the building opposite the canal behind, the room is AMAZING (room 104). Ceilings for days and a canal view
