Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Just back from first trip to Amsterdam with friends. Loved the city and will go back but not here. I have stayed in other Raddisson Blu hotels and had a better value for money experience. It was expensive and not even a bottle of water in the room on arrival. Hotel is central,

Room and location very good but poor quality of Attendance services: employees with less information about touristic aspects, such as museum information, etc, besides lack of solutions in order to satisfy the client's requests.

My wife and I traveled with our daughter and for three people in a room, Radisson required us to book a junior suite or above. The junior suite was an L shaped room were the bedroom was separated from the main room by a tall dresser with a 55 in tv on top. We had a bed that was definitely larger than a double, and if my memory is correct, it was king. The tv will swivel to face a sitting room and the couch in the room opens to a double bed. The room was very comfortable, quiet and modern, but it and the bathroom were on the small side. You can get a better idea of the room layout if you look on the Radisson Blu site. We had an enormous amount of luggage and gear and were fine during our 5 day stay in the room. On a side note, the hotel is in a very good location if your intent is to site see and it is close to a wide variety of restaurants. We were able to walk to all the key attractions in the city. In addition, the breakfast offerings at the hotel were very good and a nice way to start the day.

The nature reserves are indeed a bit outside of the city which doesn't have to be a problem as the hotel is within a 10 min walk of the central station and public transport will take you easily to those places. For example nature reserve 'De kennemerduinen' is easy to reach by train via Haarlem, take train to Zandvoort (beach side place) and get out in Overveen. After this you can visit the beach and go there for a bite. The most famous is probably 'De hoge veluwe' hogeveluwe.nl/en On their website you can find how to get there and how to get a guide if you need that! This will be an hour or so by train. Enjoy!
