Arrived here this evening. Paid 100 euros for a taxi that took us to wrong hotel so not impressed to begin with. Then when we arrived at the hotel it looked nothing like it does on the website. The room wasn't big enough to swing a cat! You need to use the elevator as the stairs are so narrow and...

Stayed here for a weekend in December. Hotel staff were ok, not overly friendly but not offensive either. Good location, about 10 mins walk to Red light district, 30 mins walk to train station and 5 mins from Rembrandt square. Right on the canal, so good views. Rooms were very basic and very small. Kettles and hair dryers in room...

Perfect location and very friendly staff, felt like it was good quality for money and the view from our room was amazing. Good for both young and old visitors because theres something for everyone near by.

Friendly staff, comfortable bed, reception area very nicely decorated and kept well. Ideal place to stay - we were lucky to get a family room to accommodate 4 of us, which was adequate for us. Other family members who had a double room had a nice small room - but it was clean and comfortable so that is was counts....

When I saw the river view in the room shown on booking.com, it was said that the rooms with view were even more expensive, as I did not get the hotel. The room was incredibly small. Even so small that it is necessary to rub the sink or even jump over to enter the shower. This money for this room...

I stayed here for one night in January and booked a "superior" single room. While the hotel is in a nice building and in a good location, minutes' walk from Rembrandtplein and a short walk from downtown, the room was too expensive for what you get. It is very small. Though generally well equipped, the walls to the neighbouring room...

Everything went wrong from the moment we arrived. I picked Hotel Nes, as it was old and had character. I had requested a room with a view. However, We were put in the "annexe" an add on in the side street. It was on the ground floor, which was dingy, noisey, dark and tiny. Tiny bathroom, shower on an angle...

Lovely hotel in a convent location close to the Rembrandtsplein tram stop, about a 5 minute walk. Hotel clean and quiet. We travelled as a group of four friends and our room was fairly spacious considering. Handy for a walk into the centre, The railway station will take you about half an hour through the shopping streets.

Spend the night at this hotel. The three star hotel has small and slightly dated rooms but everything that you need is there and works. The bed is a bit soft. The staff at check-in is ok but certainly not outstanding. The location is great, just 300 meters from the Rembrandt square. All in all ok if you are not...

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
