This mini break was booked 3 days before we went so we were not sure what to expect. The hotel is in a great position near the museum quarter and overlooking the Vondelpark. The staff were friendly and we had breakfast both mornings which, when we came to pay our bill, was on the house! Our room was small and...

The room was TINY, but with a big window and a nice view. The bathroom and room were clean, but on the second day they hadn't replaced the drinking cups in the bathroom, or removed the trash, and they left their cleaning rags on the desk. I didn't think the front desk staff were very friendly when I checked in...

I came here with girlfriend for a 3 might stay and we were both very pleased with the staff, the room and the service. The room could have been bigger but we already expected this so it didn't really bother us. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was perfect as you are far enough from...

This was my second stay at this lovely hotel with its ideal location on a quiet side street by Vondelpark and a short walk to the museums. I enjoyed the excellent variety and quality of the breakfast buffet as well as the service provided by helpful staff during my four-night stay. The small, cozy bar in the lobby is a...

Stay was 2 nights. Location is great, next to the Vondelpark, 5 minutes walk from Leidseplein and Museum Quarter. Room was tiny though and no space around to bed so you have to climb over each other in order to go to the loo! If the room is so small, I would expect them to have told us beforehand -...

A good 25 minute walk to Dam Square, a bit confusing the first day but the tram will take you straight there. Nice room, Staff very friendly and informative, we checked in to one of our rooms just after 10am so that was a welcome surprise. Luggage room available and the staff were happy to order us a taxi to...

Just returned home from a 3 night stay at Hotel Piet Hein. The hotel is in a great location just off Vondel Park and about a 5 minute walk from the Leidseplein. The room was spacious and very very clean, the staff were very courteous and polite. Can't comment on food as we never ate in the hotel but instead...

Great location next to the museums and not a long way to the centre. Breakfast is great, room comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Bus to the airport stops nearby and a view across the park out of my window

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
