Allowed to check in early, very friendly greeting, useful map of the city given to us upon arrival, lovely clean room, exactly as shown in photos. Shower was great. Staff left us alone but were always available if needed. Didn’t have the breakfast but the dining room and kitchen

We had a room on the top floor with very nice view on the canal. The room was clean, a bit small but comfortable after all. Very charming because it's one of the old buildings in the heart of the old town. The stay was pretty pleasant. The only flaws were the stairs (very

Recently stayed here with my boyfriend for 4 nights. We loved our stay. We had a room facing the canal and the view was beautiful. The rooms are really small, but very clean and perfect for us. The location is also perfect... you can walk everywhere and everything we wanted to

Arriving by means of public transport from Schiphol Airport.
The easiest and fastest way (about 20 minutes) to get to the Hegra Hotel is by taxi. The train is a good alternative. Trains towards Amsterdam Central Station depart from Schiphol Airport every 15 minutes. From the Amsterdam Central Station, a taxi is once again the easiest and fastest way to get from there to the Hegra Hotel. Alternately, you can take tramlines 1, 2 or 5 to the Dam stop (the second stop from the Central Station). Then walk on in the same direction as the tram and turn right at the first corner. Then cross over the Singel (a canal) and walk to the next canal (the Herengracht) where you will turn left. The Hegra Hotel will be on your left in another 150 metres at Herengracht 269.

"Ask which room your a situated. Older people with knee or balance issues should not stay on any floor past the first floor."
"little boat on the canal outside the hotel, not sure if it belongs to the hotel but nice and relaxing to lay down in.bobbing up and down"
"Rooms 9 and 10 are four flights up narrow stairs."
"Ask for a canal view room on a lower level (no elevator)"
"Lower floors/room numbers involve less stairs, which get steeper the higher you go"
