This is not a glitzy hotel but it is very quiet and in a superb location. Mattresses are excellent, we had absolutely silent rooms and it was very clean. Location is amazing: in the 'Mayfair' of Amsterdam. In some senses this is problematic since all the nearby shops and restaurants are outrageously expensive, but it is extremely safe. You can cycle from here to the Concertgebauw, Van Gogh Museum etc in less than five minutes. Park near the hotel is beautiful: we always headed home after the day through the park. We also commuted by bike from here to all the sights in Amsterdam. Nothing was much further than fifteen minutes bike away: Anne Frank, Red Light, Amstel etc. We were really happy here. Don't be put off by the rather dark green paint work. No idea why they have painted the rooms in this rather dour colour. Their bike rental is the same rate as commercial companies and I think that would be a good idea (we hired elsewhere) becuase you can leave the bikes back at the hotel at the end of the stay. Easy no change connection to Schipol (bus 397) takes about 20 minutes too!. Five minute walk from bus stop to hotel. This hotel may not be glamourous but it is wonderfully located, efficient, clean and comfortable. Well-recommended.

This was a last minute booking and we were absolutely delighted with the hotel in every aspect. The area is up-market and relatively quiet (there is a frequent tram service into the centre of town and the Central Station). The Museur Quarter is just around the corner. The Vondelpark is a stone's throw away. As for the hotel itself it is a tiny bit cramped - rooms are relatively small and ours was up on the third floor. Hard work in a lift free building. That said, everything else is top notch: The communal areas are light and airy, there is free coffee and an honesty bar. Breakfast looked great - altho' we missed out on it on this trip. The reception staff could not have been more helpful and were generous in giving their time to make recommendations, provide directions etc. It was also great to be staying in an independent hotel rtaher than a dull chain outlet. The price seemed about right for this standard of accommodation in a great part of town. This is a clear first choice for a stay in Amsterdam and we will certainly be back.

This was a return visit to this well-located and welcoming hotel. The hotel is small and comfortable, and serves an excellent, extensive, continental breakfast. The friendly reception staff were particularly helpful on this visit when the closure of restaurants looked to be a problem. Proximity to the Vondelpark is an enormous asset

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay.
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and spacious.
We were downstairs so had a small garden if we had wanted to use it.
About 30-40 mins walk into central or a tram stop almost outside.
We walked as you get to see more and the weather was dry.
We didn’t bother with breakfast but there is complimentary tea, coffee, water and fruit in the main reception area.
Plus in your room. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
There are several nice restaurant’s and a few shops (including a bakery) 5 mins walk away.
We have no complaints about this hotel, it’s not luxurious but met all our needs so we would stay again.

Do not expect the Ritz. This is an hotel that serves a purpose. We were on a short midweek break and needed a place to lay our heads. The room was spotless. The bathroom too, although more of a wet room. Toiletries and towels supplied. Large TV with a good selection of channels. The room was small, but as I said served a purpose. Staff very friendly, and welcoming. The location is a little out of town, but is very quiet and surrounded by restaurants and boutiques. If heading into the city, walking takes 10 minutes before you start to hit the pubs and shops. Dam Square is a good 25 to 30 minute walk. When we arrived into Schipol we travelled by train to Central Station. We got a Taxi that cost €40 and took 20 minutes through traffic. We should have taken a Taxi from the airport which would have cost the same, or taken the bus where the station is only 400 meters away.

We had a good stay at this hotel. We rented a triple room. Apparently there are 3 triple rooms in this hotel. One triple room in the basement, and two triple rooms on the upper floor. The triple rooms on the upper floor have kitchenettes. We got a room on the upper floor facing the garden. It was dead quiet no road noise at all. The room had a double and a single bed which made my daughter happy as she got a real bed and not a rollout sofa bed. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to Vondel Park, 15 minutes to museum district, and 20 minutes to the Albert Cuyp market (which we really enjoyed, you gotta go there). There a several restaurants close by, we enjoyed the Brasserie Van Dam (went there two times).
Our room was quite large, but stairs leading to our room where steep and narrow (there's no elevator). But our host Roy was more than happy to bring our luggage up to the room, and down when checking out. The only caution I would make, is that the rooms do not have air conditioning. One day the weather was 30 degrees celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) and our room was very warm even though we had 2 fans.

😵‍💫I recently stayed at this Hotel in Amsterdam, booked via Booking.com, and it was one of the worst experiences🤢 I’ve had with a hotel. The room I received was in a completely different state from what was shown in the photos on Booking.com and Google. It was located at a different address (203 instead of 205) and was in an unacceptable and uninhabitable condition.

The room was dirty, with broken electrical outlets, and an unpleasant smell throughout. The bathroom lighting didn’t work properly, forcing us to rely on a small lamp. The bed was torn apart, and the overall cleanliness was severely lacking. The place had no basic amenities like slippers or toiletries, which you’d expect even at budget accommodations. It was clear that the room hadn’t been cleaned or maintained for quite some time.

When I reached out to Booking.com for help, they informed me that they couldn’t intervene because the reservation was made through a partner. I was advised to discuss the issues directly with the property owner, which was a major inconvenience since I booked through Booking.com expecting their support.

Upon contacting the property, they initially offered only two options: stay in the current room or move to an alternative room in the basement, which was in equally poor condition. After almost an hour of frustrating discussions, 😵‍💫😵where we were simply trying to get what we paid for, I suggested a compromise. I asked if we could move to a room for two people in building 205, and have an extra mattress added for the third guest. They reluctantly agreed.

The room we were finally given was still not up to the standard shown in the photos but was at least cleaner and more functional than the first. However, it didn’t erase the initial negative experience of poor service, misleading listings, and lack of support from both the property and Booking.

⚠️I want to emphasize that the photos and descriptions provided on Booking are completely misleading.⚠️ The lack of accountability and support from both Booking and the property made this a highly stressful experience. ⚠️I hope Booking reevaluates their partnerships and quality control to prevent other guests from going through the same ordeal.

⛔️⛔️If you’re considering staying here, be cautious and double-check reviews and conditions before booking. I would not recommend this place to anyone, given the poor maintenancHere's a more detailed review for both Booking and Google misleading information, and unhelpful management.

I needed to amend my previous review. The best part of the hotel is the location. It is close to the tram, which tracks perfectly to the City Center and Museo district located within walking distance. There are lovely restaurants and shops nearby which also makes for a convenient stay. This hotel also lies nearby the wonderful Vondelpak. It’s as awesome as advertised.

The hotel itself is very basic. The larger family room, esp in the basement, is of fair quality at best. Dirty carpet, poor flushing toilet and minimal cleaning. One day found us with a stained sheet, that was only salvaged by available linens stored in the common hallway closet. The stairs to the room are steep and winding, which are very precarious even for very mobile travelers.

This hotel is best for sleeping and short stays. Would recommend for young families or folks with limited mobility.

The room we had was quite small - large enough for 2 single beds (not pushed together) with only a very limited amount of space between them. There were other rooms which were slightly larger but not spacious.

The Honesty Bar is not complimentary. It is the system where we trust our guests like we trust ourselves. You take from the bar in the LivingRoom what you feel like and pay when you leave. Or we bring it up to the room, with pleasure.
