They charged 100 eur cleaning fee for "thank you" note written by a marker on mirror, which can be cleaned easily by an alcohol wipe. Stay there if you have money to pay more for their arbitrary and unreasonable extras.
Appalling service, we was unable to travel due to Coronavirus, our flights was cancelled by easyJet who issued a full refund. This place and the owner handled it terribly, very arrogant and very patronising. Told us we must pay a cancellation fee even though we can’t physically get to the country, very hard to get in touch with. If you want a hotel that cares about its customers then definitely avoid this place. One of the worst places I’ve ever dealt with in my life. AVOID
If travellers are looking for a typically old Amsterdam small hotel, this is the place. Just make sure you have no no one with mobility difficulties (which we did). I'll start from the beginning. We arrived in the late morning before the room were available. Staff in the hotel were remarkably friendly and helpful as much as they could. On Nigieran as friendly as he was couldn't help .us with connections The rest of the stay was over mid stream. It should work. zit may have worked fir some part of the sit-seeing excursion but I would stay close to the original goal.
I don't know why it took me this long to write this , but thank you to hotel Hoksbergen for the amazing stay last summer - overall good location and friendly staff . The breakfast helped make a dent and the soft drinks were a life saver .
Hotel Hoksbergen is a perfect choice for a stay in Amsterdam. First the young ladies(staff) that work their are very warm, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about Amsterdam. The check-in was effortless which was highly appreciated after traveling all day and being worn out. My room 13 which is lucky for me has a great view of the Canal with large windows you can open to take in all the Amsterdam atmosphere. The room itself is very nicely decorated with a large comfortable bed with nice pillows and linens. The bathroom is modern and has all the amenities you need. The shower has plenty of hot water with nice shampoo and shower gel dispensers, the sink has organic soap dispensers, and also a hair dryer with outlets for plugging things in.The hotel itself is very clean and they turn down the room and provide fresh towels. The breakfast is served from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. Fresh squeezed orange juice is a nice touch, along with fresh fruits, breads, cereals, yogurts, salmon, meats, cakes all you need. They bring your coffee, Tea, Espresso ect - whatever you request to your table after a friendly greeting when you enter the breakfast lounge area. You may have questions on where to eat or rent a bike and the girls truthfully are very friendly and helpful in pointing you in the right direction. The location could not be better within walking distance to everything you want to see or restaurants to eat at. I highly recommend staying here for your Amsterdam stay if you can get a reservation. The warm and friendly staff far exceeds most of the places I have stayed and that includes a few 5 star hotels in Europe. The building itself is designed old Amsterdam style like the thousands of other buildings around all the canals, the history behind this is they taxed houses on there width, thus giving you all the historic narrow houses you see in Amsterdam. I was told the locals are in such goods shape from the stairs in their homes and riding there bikes everywhere which is the best way besides walking to get around. I repeat very nice girls that are always friendly. I would stay here again if I was ever to come back to Amsterdam. Enjoy.…
