This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. We opted for a superior room - well worth it as the standard room is compact to say the least. The location is great and the staff are all helpful. Breakfast is good and the 24 hr reception bar is handy. We will be back - I'd definitely recommend this...

Was taken here by my wife for a birthday treat and the hotel was sublime. Excellent counter staff and breakfast service. Was a pleasure and will definitely go back. Very local to the museum and shopping district.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently. On arrival was greeted by two young men which helped us plan our routes for the next couple of days and provided us with a map, tram and metro links etc. The hotel is just out of the centre but next to some major must see places such as the Amsterdam sign and the...

Dear Rachael M, Thank you for sharing your experience. I truly enjoyed reading your review. I think there might have been a miscommunication between the breakfast time and the check out time. Our breakfast is served till 10 during the week and our check out time is until 11. But I would fault the comfy bed as well :P. I...

A long weekend with a large party of 8. We all really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were small, but thats expected in Amsterdam! There was everything you could wish for within the rooms, towels replaced with clean and the bed made in the morning. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating to all our requests....

Myself and 7 friends stayed here for two nights in February and loved it. The hotel is traditional in style and in a great quiet location close to the museums and Vondelpark. We loved the quirky extras such as the record player, board games, sweets and basket ball in the rooms. The rooms are small but are well decorated and...

Positives: friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Unique boutique design in the hotel and rooms. Wifi was good. Location was great. Quiet area with plenty of stores in the next block and more nearby within walking distance. Needs improvement: Room was cold and it could use a heater. Stayed for 1 week in beginning Feb and the breakfast was the same everyday....

Stayed here in December. It is a lovely hotel the decor is really nice! It is like a boutique feel hotel. Very Amsterdam. The location is good it is in the museum quarter, about a 20/30 min walk into central. There are trams close by as well. The only issue we had was that the breakfast area got very busy...

We wanted somewhere in a quiet location but with an easy hop on the tram to all the main places of interest, Museum Square was the perfect choice. We stayed at the Max Brown for three nights and on first impressions loved the look of the hotel. As in a lot of places in Amsterdam, the steps at the front of the building are quite steep, so this would not be ideal for anybody with mobility issues. Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
