We had a very large room with windows on three sides. I was surprised by the size of the room based on the pictures. The bed was a bit small, but we were happy it was one bed, not two smaller ones mashed together as is the European way. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were not. The...

The receptionist at Linden Hotel was absolutely awesome and very helpful. He was very knowledgeable and gave us good directions. It is one of the few hotels to have an elevator in Amsterdam, however, it is quite small (As expected throughout Europe). We traveled as a group of 5 friends, so we booked 2 rooms. One room was a triple...

I have recently returned home from a long weekend with my partner in Amsterdam, and I have to say that the Linden Hotel is an ideal place for anyone looking for a quiet, cosy, comfortable base to rest up before undertaking all the amazing exploring opportunities on offer in Amsterdam. The location of the hotel is about 10-15 minute walk...

We flew into Amsterdam and took the train into the Amsterdam Centraal railway station and, using my iphone, we were able to walk to the hotel - about 20 minutes away. Our room wasn't quite ready as we had taken an early flight but they were happy to look after our bags whilst we went to explore. The receptionist pointed...

We stayed there recently for two nights. Whilst the room was tiny, the bed was an absolute dream to sleep on! The lack of room is overcompensated by the delightful, friendly and informative staff. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. Would recommend.... like staying at a good friend 's house!

Quaint boutique hotel, completely refurbished two years ago. Tiny, tiny rooms, so we requested 2 of the largest rooms as we were two couples with "North American sized luggage". Rooms 44 & 54 are right on the corner, so the room is uniquely shaped. Staff Extremely friendly, Echo, Michael & Gerrard LOVELY! Would we stay here again, well yes, we...

We stayed at linden for 4 nights in total both while entering and exiting Amsterdam. It was a nice and cosy experience. It's a small hotel with basic facilities including toiletries, room cleaning and breakfast on additional payment. But the credit for the feeling of warmth and comfort one experiences goes to the hosts at reception Michael, Patrick and Gerrard....

It is a lovely hotel well situated just a few bus stops to Central station. The area is also OK. Rooms are small but well equipped, comfy bed, great shower all in good condition and clean. Staff is nice and has been very helpful, giving in information about transportation and printing documents. Only problem if you're a light sleeper, the...

We stayed here for 4 nights in October, the hotel was in a quiet location out of the main area of downtown. There were quite a few places to eat and drink near by but all the touristy stuff was at least a 15 minute walk (or more). We stayed in a small double room and man was it small,...

Lovely little hotel; extremely helpful staff. Good if you prefer a quiet location - some great local cafes and bars within a few minutes walk. My only reservation is that they do not have a 24-hour reception- this could be an issue if arriving late or are concerned about security..

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
