The feet of the person in the bed next to me where in my bed. That's because the beds are so small and they are competely pushed together as the room is that small. The shower area has a curtain but that doesn't really provide any cover. The walls may as well be none exsitent as you can hear anything... More

This hostel is great as it is walking distance to everything , the rooms are safe with a locker with lock. Good price and comfortable size rooms. There are 2 showers to each floor which are kept very clean which was nice because that was one thing I was concerned about since they are shared. Only problem for me when... More

I stayed in International Budget Hostel during my first solo trip to Amsterdam. The hostel is well located, no more than 15 mins walking to Dam Square, Red Light District or Nine Streets. The atmosphere is amazing during the evening when all the dimming street lights are lit up and I can smell the weeds in the hostel itself. The... More

I just stayed here for week as part of EU/ UK educational programme. Staff were all friendly and helpful, shower was hot and bathroom stayed mostly clean throughout my stay. It was easy to commute around to Dam square (25 mins walk/ 7 mins by bike/ 10 mins by tram) and other local attractions. I wasn't too keen on my... More

Well, when my friends and I decided to travel to Amsterdam for a long weekend I was excited - but when they told me we were staying at a hostel I wasn't looking forward to it as much. I was, however, nicely surprised by this hostel. On arrival when you check in you are given as many key-cards as you... More

Good location close to lots of restaurants and public transport. Stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm and it was one of the tiniest dorms I've stayed in. Would get out of bed to trip over other guests' items as they had nowhere to store luggages..room had shower and sink but no toilet.. ( would prefer to have toilet than... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
