The Best Western Amsterdam garners praise for its cleanliness, with many guests highlighting immaculate rooms and well-maintained facilities. While the rooms are generally appreciated for their spaciousness and tidiness, opinions on service and amenities are mixed, with mentions of both professional staff and lapses in responsiveness. The hotel's location is favored for its convenience to public transport, albeit not being in the city's epicenter. Value perceptions vary, with some travelers finding the pricing steep, particularly regarding food and unexpected charges. The atmosphere of the hotel is often described as welcoming, with a particularly inviting ambiance in communal areas.

I'm a BW member and this was probably the worst BW hotel I stayed in. Staff was ok but they asked to pay during the check-in when you should let customers go to their room after a trip. The room was fine too but we had two windows, one facing stairs so we had to keep it close and the other one above the bed and not reachable without jumping on the bed. Empty mini-bar. Small restroom with non functioning toilet and open shower (no curtain or door present) so all the floor would get wet. Room cleaning very poor considering we got our bed sheets reversed (one side was purple and then we noticed that it was reversed to cover it) and our clothes moved from a side to another without care. A funny plus: empty bottles were removed from the room when we could reuse them (eco-friendly service ;) )

A lovely view of concrete and cladding, heating within the room was constant, with no working thermostat, ugly uncovered pipes on display. The hotel provides soap, body wash, plastic cup and a towel... no toothpaste or anything more. Staff were polite, and the room cleaned each day.

The location of the hotel is okay, as the metro is a 10-15 minute walk. If you enjoy nightlife and late nights, not the most ideal. As the last metro is around 12.

Amsterdam isn't the most modern city, with a lack of pay as you go electric scooters (almost every other major city within Europe has them) and Boris bike equivalent. Ovi-fiets require a card, not available to tourists. The hotel offers bike rental, however, Amsterdam central is roughly a 30-minute bike ride, when intoxicated not the best mode of transport.

My room had a spacious look & feel, and was very clean. The soap smells really good. My room did not have outside view (it looked out on an indoors corridor), and the window could not be opened, both of which made me feel a bit locked up.
The neighbourhood is not very exiting nor attractive, but for a one-night stay or a business trip that's okay. The city centre is within easy reach by tram (just a couple of tram stops to the Museumplein/Concert Hall area). You'll find two supermarkets just around the corner, which I found very convenient.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
I did not have a good night's sleep (although the bed was nice) because of very noisy guests in others rooms and in the corridors very late at night. But I guess that was bad luck, and guest behaviour isn't something the hotel can do much about.
The bathroom was very clean and the shower was good, but flushing of neighbours' toilets caused lot of loud noises in my bathroom.

Nice simple hotel room, good shower, have a TV, a mini fridge, safe.

Very very convinient 5 mins from Tram to get to city and all main locations.

Very friendly staff. Very good value for money, can get the moat necessary from it, this Hotel is just what you need if you are willing to explore the city and get back for a goodnight sleep, the reception can provide travel passes for you around the city for for fews, what saves you trying to figure out how to use machines by yourself.

I was left very happy. For my 4 night stay 👌🏼💯

Honestly, i am outraged with the customer service i have come into contact with during the covid-19 pandemic. This hotel only cares about one thing and that is taking peoples money without providing any help. we have called the hotel 9 times and each time have been passed onto different places all to be told that the hotel cant help us. Our flights were with easyjet and got cancelled so we have no way of leaving the uk (whos customer service was 5*) . NO offer of dates can be offered NO refund can be offered. after satying here 3 times before they show no loyalty or thanks. its not a great hotel anyway so you would be better finding somewhere closer to the centre and enjoying your stay without seeing a rat as soon as you walk outside the hotel.

Myself and my partner arrived at the end of September to Amsterdam with having a 2 night stay at this hotel. As we arrived the beautiful open lounge was very welcoming, we were soon Welcomed at reception. The gentleman that was checking us in was very friendly and very helpful, even creating some small chat with us. The room and bathroom was very big and beautiful and extremely clean. Even when we ran out of coffee and sugar the reception and bar staff were very accommodating and gave us more. I definitely recommend this beautiful hotel for your stay in Amsterdam. Its also not too expensive to stay here and only a 30 minute train ride to the city centre where you can also catch a train to and from the airport. We certainly will be back... Ps they had a pozza vending machine there too not bad prices too. (Excuse all the rubbish, all pictures attached were taken on departure of hotel to come home.)

Booked this hotel through Agoda. Obviously in the middle of a global pandemic with travel restrictions in place (including a do not travel order from the UK) and nothing open the trip needed to be cancelled. The hotel have refused to amend dates or refund the amount paid to them. Between Best Western and Agoda the service has been shocking - avoid both at all costs.

Me and my friend visited here on a long weekend away to Amsterdam; we found the location good as it wasn't too far out from the city centre, however also wasn't as extortionately priced as some closer hotels. We had a double room, which was a nice size, and very happy to have a good functioning air conditioner as the weekend was very hot. The room was of good quality, however the pillows for the bed were quite small compared to normal size pillows. Good sized fridge and tea making facilities, however had to ask bar staff for a spoon, and the cleaners weren't restocking the tea bags. Bathroom facilities were good, towels just a bit on the small side, and the shower water didn't drain very well when it went round the glass shower wall onto the floor by the sink area. Staff were friendly, and we made good use of the luggage hold as we had early flights in and late flights out. The only downside was we didn't have any food or drinks from there, as the prices were very high; £16 for one person for breakfast for me personally is far too much.

Thé hôtel is a little bit far from the city center, but 15/20min in tram and you arrive to the city center and it’s worthy because of the difference of the price from the hotels in the center.
Breakfast was really good for the price.
The staff was really nice, especially the Barman.
Only thing was the room had like a “old” smell when we arrived.
I definitely will come back!

Booked a room months ago through an agency. Due to Corona virus problem - travels are banned to NL and from TR. So I contacted the hotel first. They rejected. Then asked to agency to support. And agency said they insisted but the hotel did not accept. 2 days before my reservation starts Best Westen Group declared from their webpage that their customers can cancel their reservation no matter what. But the hotel still didn't agree.

No, I don't think so. Unless that has changed in the meantime. But tourist taxes are extremely high in Amsterdam anyway, so you may still have to pay more than you'd reckon at first sight.
