Would definitely recommend a stay here if you're heading to Amsterdam, a real find. The location was lovely, fairly easy to find from Amsterdam Central Station. Although the there is no sign outside so ensure you have the address details with you. Beautiful area alongside all the canals and the area feels very friendly. Beautifully decorated and the owners are...

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute trip to Amsterdam and were so pleased when we found Sjudoransj. It was an easy walk from the main train station and located in a lovely area. The house is really beautifully designed- from the entrance hall to the room and bathroom. It was so nice to have breakfast delivered to your...

My husband and I travelled to Amsterdam in December. We arrived by train and walked from the train station. It was not a short walk over the bricks and cobble stones with luggage. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly woman taking care of the B&B for Godfrey while he was out of town. We were the only...

It was like coming home after a long day walking and sight seeing. First off, it is SO well designed and whoever put it together has an incredible eye for interior design. It really helped get that dose of culture here in Amsterdam, staying in an old squeaky house, but also so nice and modern. We stayed in the van...

I recently had the privilege of staying here for three days. It had the perfect location, within walking distance of every place I wanted to see. The room was spacious, quiet, modern, cleverly decorated and functional. Nothing on earth is more awkward than having breakfast on your own amongst strangers in a guest house dining room, not here, a delicious...

I have stayed at Sjudoransj once before and was not sure if it was possible to recreate my wonderful first impression on my second visit. It was even better! I was even more impressed on my recent visit of 6 nights: the cosy atmosphere and friendly surroundings of the street and my gracious hosts were even more welcoming on my...

I stayed at Sjudoransj B&B for 3 nights and it has been my best experience in a bed & breakfast ever! It is located in one of the nicest areas in Amsterdam in a quiet street but around the corner there are great restaurants (including great breakfast places so I would recommend going out for breakfast to a different place...

This is a great place to rest your head and in easy walking district of most amenities. If you don't like steep stairs this is not the place for you but that is common in Amsterdam Very friendly host.

When the front door opened and we first saw the steep, narrow steps (27 of them) to get to our room, we almost fainted. No elevators in these old homes. If you're traveling with a lot of luggage... not a good choice. Once settled, Sjudoransj became a perfect choice. We were in the Vermeer room in the back of the...

We stayed in the Vermeer room. Sjudoransj is in a nice neighborhood and is built like the small houses in amsterdam so we got to have that wooden house experience. Its managed by Godfrey who lives in the apartment above. He was surprisingly always there with one knock on the door. We were facing the backyard with lots of greenery...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
