We spent our third Christmas in Amsterdam from 23rd -27th.
This was our first time in V Nesplein and it was superb from the moment we stepped into it.
It is exactly as described on their website with classy, comfy, immaculate rooms and smiling, friendly, professional staff. We were in a superior room which was huge by Amsterdam standards and with a massive bathroom. Room overlooked Nesplein which is a quiet back street running parallel with Rokin, so near to everything you need, sights, trams, restaurants.......
The communal areas including a comfy library area, bar and restaurant are very inviting and again the staff contribute to the atmosphere and a positive experience. We didn't eat there but assume it would match everything else and the many people who did while we were there certainly appeared to be enjoying themselves.
Happily we will be returning in spring, having now found the perfect Amsterdam hotel, after several decades of visiting the city.
Highly recommended.

I stayed at Hotel V Feb/ March 2020.
Overall it was a pleasant stay.
Internet was very good, very quiet room (I was on the 3rd Floor). Very Clean
The staff are bloody amazing. They really can't do more for you.
If I had to say something negative, The breakfast is quite rigid. I wanted a fried egg on toast, this is not possible but they offered scrambled eggs., these were (what looked like) pinged in a Microwave. but even this on my last day I got my fried eggs.
Both scrambled and fried eggs are not on the Menu.
Also rigid is the Restaurant Menu, they have 3, Breakfast, Lunch and Supper but you can only pick from the current Menu. So I wanted a Burger at Supper, this is not allowed as the Burger is a Lunch Menu item.
Also beware, the in house Restaurant is so popular that you have to book well in advance as it's always full. I will stay again.

We stayed here mid week and just loved it! The location was ideal, right in the centre but hidden down a side street so you’d never know Rokin or Dam Square were just round the corner. We were in room 312, it was so spacious, well designed and the bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was really spacious too. The breakfast each morning was SO good, and the bloody Mary’s are the best we’ve ever had, they saved us each morning! The staff are super friendly and efficient too, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend, we will be back!

I didn't enjoy this hotel. The room temperature was unbearable without any control of a fan or thermostat. I reserved a queen bed and was given 2 tiny twin beds that were made of a concrete or brick material. The waitress at the breakfast restaurant couldn't be bothered and I was the only guest in the restaurant both times. They do not have shades covering their light bulbs. I personally find these light fixtures create a harsh, uncomfortable environment. I couldn't wait to check out.

The location is perfect. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired, especially at the restaurant. The beds are a little uncomfortable but the room sizes are very nice. I would caution that it is extremely loud at night and they do provide ear plugs - that should say enough. I travel to Amsterdam frequently and would recommend looking for another place.

The hotel, the staff and the location was amazing! I would 1000% reccomend this hotel. We loved Amsterdam so much and were gutted to leave. I couldn't fault a single thing about this hotel. Once inside your room it is silent so you don't hear anything which is lovely. I am so glad we chose to stay here and when we come back to Amsterdam I would definitely book this hotel again.

SCAM!! Be careful!!

They sell rooms that they don’t have and when you pay and check in , give you lower category and type of room. This is what happened to us.
The worst thing is the Front Desk supervisor who was rude and with a snob and sarcastic attitude was answering with lies and laughing instead of help and suggest solutions
So unprofessional. Unacceptable
It is not of course a 4* hotel but rooms with staff they dont know customer service and hospitality.
So pity
Save your money and choose something else
Feel free to contact me for more information
( the hotel will answer that they didnt have availability for other rooms to suggest but this is a big lie and the WORST thing is the staff’ attitude and mentality to take your money and kick you out

A fabulous hotel and fantastic stay!
Visited with my husband for 3 nights. The hotel was cosy and the room was spacious and comfortable (stayed on the 3rd floor). The breakfast was great and it was a nice touch that you could have it in your room for no extra tray charge. The breakfast is also until 11.30 which was great for a late get up one morning. The staff, service and location was perfect and we would love to come back and stay again.
Thank you again for the bubbly 🥂

Very nice one. Perfectly located in the center, but quiet nonetheless. Stylish. The rooms were quiet, too and could be darkend completely which is important to us.

For our car we used a valet service which went very smoothly. Make sure however they explain where exactly you should stop next to the hotel, because this turned out to be tricky.

We truly loved our stay at Hotel V. We even extended for an extra night as the hotel (and Amsterdam) were so fantastic. The hotel is very stylish, the room was huge and beautifully designed. The staff were all friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Amsterdam in different directions and despite being quite central it was very quiet. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

Can 3 adults stay in 1 room or do we need to book 2 rooms?
Answer from Ray C

I agree with two rooms. We did not have a couch so a cot or extra bed would be needed... of course if you're partying heavily someone could sleep in the bathtub.

Is there air conditioning in rooms?
Answer from Stacy H
Roseville, California23 contributions15 helpful votes
Although listed as having air conditioning, it does not. I’m not sure how they get around such a significant lie, but there it is. They offered us a fan when they told me that there was no air con in the room. We could only cool our room down by opening the window (which did not work properly). Sleeping with an open window is lovely and it was cool enough, but there was a loud mechanical sound next to our window which prevented us from leaving the window open.

Schiphol airport is about 30 km. The airport has its own train station, easily reachable from inside the arrival hall and with train connections every 5 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal Station. From there you can either take the tram number 16 (platform A3 outside the station, on the left corner of the same) and get off the tram at the stop "Dam", than it's less than 5 minutes walking, just ask direction for "Nes". Otherwise you can walk from the station but it's closer to 30 minutes (with luggage and stuff). A Taxi will cost you maximum 50 euros (that's an honest taxi fare, of course), a Uber something less.
