Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fantastic three night stay here Wonderful staff, greeted on arrival with complimentary bubbles and helpful friendly receptionist Early check in was available, our room was huge! Bathroom beautiful and comfy beds. Treats and a note on the bed to welcome us. Location of the hotel is perfect for exploring all of the city, central as central can be. The lobby restaurant serves amazing evening meals and really nice breakfast We would 💯 return ! Excellent hotel!

The hotel, the staff and the location was amazing! I would 1000% reccomend this hotel. We loved Amsterdam so much and were gutted to leave. I couldn't fault a single thing about this hotel. Once inside your room it is silent so you don't hear anything which is lovely. I am so glad we chose to stay here and when we come back to Amsterdam I would definitely book this hotel again.

SCAM!! Be careful!! They sell rooms that they don’t have and when you pay and check in , give you lower category and type of room. This is what happened to us. The worst thing is the Front Desk supervisor who was rude and with a snob and sarcastic attitude was answering with lies and laughing instead of help and suggest solutions So unprofessional. Unacceptable It is not of course a 4* hotel but rooms with staff they dont know customer service and hospitality. So pity Save your money and choose something else Feel free to contact me for more information ( the hotel will answer that they didnt have availability for other rooms to suggest but this is a big lie and the WORST thing is the staff’ attitude and mentality to take your money and kick you out

We truly loved our stay at Hotel V. We even extended for an extra night as the hotel (and Amsterdam) were so fantastic. The hotel is very stylish, the room was huge and beautifully designed. The staff were all friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Amsterdam in different directions and despite being quite central it was very quiet. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

The hotel is ideally situated, off the main road so is relatively quiet, it is also literally less than 2 minutes walk away from Dam Square. There are plenty of soft pillows and the bed was one of comfiest we have had, which is perfect after a full day exploring this wonderful city. The reception staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and gave you good tips of places to visit. Cleanliness at the hotel was of a high standard. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

We wanted a quiet place for this visit to Amsterdam. We were attracted to the location of V-Nesplein which is still in the heart of the city, but seemed to be set apart from the noise, and is walking distance to the Metro and the main train station. With the hefty price of the room, we expected some luxury, but not to be. The room was spacious enough, but it was quite dark. The heavy dark curtains did not help much. We were quite disappointed with the furnishings and furniture. The bedside lamps were way too low for comfortable reading in bed. While the bed is comfortable enough, the two chairs provided were not usable. They are very uncomfortable go so deep that a short person like me cannot get out of them without any help. One cannot even sit on them to tie one’s shoes. They also never show this in their website pictures, but what goes for their closet or clothes storage space is nothing but naked rough planks of wood held together by naked tubes. They look as though they have been sourced from a junkyard. We also requested for a quiet room. Instead, they put us next to the staff’s restroom. Its door starts banging at 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning, when the staff start coming in. We paid for breakfast to be included. It was very convenient that the hotel has a Lobby Bar & Restaurant, but the selection was very limited. As we were there for 6 mornings, we practically sampled everything. While the staff are very attentive and accommodating, (coffee and water for tea always served very hot), for some reason, the breakfast was always served cold. And this is also something that never fails to amaze me, how professional chefs manage to take the taste out from something as simple as scrambled eggs. They were not just cold, but very tasteless as well. There was really no justifiable reason for this as the kitchen is right there, at the end of the bar, unless eggs are pre-cooked and plated and served when they are already cold. There really is nothing luxurious about this hotel, though I have to commend the restaurant’s staff. They were really very pleasant and accommodating except for a couple who were rather grumpy. High marks also have to go to the Housekeeping person who took care of our room. She was very efficient and reliable. The room was cleaned on time, supplies, especially clean towels, were always sufficiently replenished. But sadly, this is not a hotel we would even contemplate going back to in the future.

As a travel Agent I am always looking for Luxurious hotels located in the best areas to share with my clients. Hotel V Nesplein is a great hotel located in the heart of the action. The room was very spacious & clean. The hotel staff made our stay more enjoyable.

Friendly, quiet, clean and in the midst of Amsterdam. Some rooms can be a little dark and I'd recommend the hotel invest in better pillows (the small foam based squares are a bit of a let down). The hotel restaurant tends to fill up with a good mix of locals and guests.
