Everything was perfect! Everything! Especially Charles who could teach hospitality to the finest hotels around the world! Honest, friendly, welcoming, and especially the attention given to you personally was just magnificent. Will be at Charles's whenever I'm in amsterdam without a doubt. Only problem is with such high standards I hope I'll find a vacancy during my short trips to...

What a beautiful place to stay for my first visit to Amsterdam! Right across the street from the park but only steps to all we could hope to take in during our weeks stay. We are gluten free & a special effort was made to have the frig full of delicious items. And what a treat to have gluten free...

The photographs tell the story. We lived in this lovely flat for five wonderful days The neighborhood is perfect for everything Amsterdam. Just a street away from Holland's equivalent to Beverly Hill's Rodeo Drive but in a quiet neighborhood across from a park. Our refrigerator was stocked before we arrived and still had more food than we could eat before...

Not fan of writing reviews, but can't resist this time. We stayed in the Garden suite (ground floor) as a party of 4: parents + 2 kids. Kids were quite happy to share sofa in the living room. The unreal tropical garden with palms, parrots, fish-pond and heated arbor was the place where they would gladly spend all time. The...

Me and my friends stayed in the garden apartment for 5 days and had an amazing time. First of all, the location was perfect. We had walking distance to most of the tourist attractions and to the heart of Amsterdam. Secondly, the host Charles was the best there is. He welcomed us with open arms and gave us practically everything...

We stayed in the Garden suite and studio over a very wet weekend. But the feeling you get when you arrive at this amazing accommodation is one of warmth and welcome. Charles and Joel made us feel like very welcome VIPs and the accommodation was inspiring and perfect in every way. The fresh baked croissants each morning and Apple pie...

We have just returned from a wonderful week in the Garden Apartment. It was very clean with everything you needed and more including a well stocked fridge, towels, bathrobes and even slippers! The garden is amazing, not what you would expect in the middle of Amsterdam City and the enormous window in the lounge meant you could sit inside while...

We stayed in the garden suite and had a fantastic experience. We booked this after reading all the reviews and it lived up to expectations and more. Lots of food & drinks, great guidance on what to do in Amsterdam and Charles organized our taxi back to the airport. This is a far better experience than staying in a hotel...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

“Make the most of the amazing garden and light the fire and turn on the heaters if cold outside. The outdoor lighting makes this a perfect place to enjoy an evening drink or two. Very pretty and romantic garden-hideaway.”
