My boyfriend and I travelled to Amsterdam for four day. The rooms are very nice and clean. You could use the kitchen and the common room. Also you get free Internet connetion. The breakfast is fantastic. The Hotel is in the Center and from the tain Station only 10-15 minutes.

Easy walk from train station to your own little oasis in Amsterdam. Common areas included two fully equipped kitchens. Can stash your stuff in the fridge or even cook up a little meal. Juice, breads and snacks are even available on the house. At the end of our evenings out, we enjoyed picking up a bottle of wine (plenty of...

The Heren B&B is operated by Ken and Vlad, who also operate the nearby Maes B&B; in fact, your reservation at Maes may result in a stay at Heren. No matter: the experience will be wonderful at either. Heren is a surprisingly spacious canal house, directly on the Singal canal, convenient to many excellent restaurants. Most rooms are on the...

I had the pleasant experience of staying at one of the Heren B & B's upper apartments for a week in August. Vlad was very personable and accommodating. I arrived from the train station dragging luggage and found the street without too much difficulty, although I was expecting more advertising than the small gold nameplate on the black door. Once...

We flew into Amsterdam and ended up at Centraal Station on the train. A bit apprehensive about finding the apartment dragging suitcases along behind, based on the information we had but only because we realised we were to meet Vlad at one address and then walk to the address we were staying at. Seemed a little bit of back tracking...

My husband and I stayed at the Heren Bed & Breakfast from the 22nd of June until the 26th but really wish our stay could have been longer. Vlad and all the staff were wonderful, from all the great information they so willingly provided, the truly great breakfasts, (especially the Coconut cake) to the beautiful and comfortable accommodations. Truly a...

We stayed in the second floor apartment at Singel Canal. The apartment is very modern, clean and extremely comfortable. The apartment overlooks the Singel Canal and we were able to soak up the Amsterdam atmosphere by opening the large windows, sitting on the window sill and watching all the "happenings" below. Vlad is an excellent host, who although was not...

We rented the top floor apartment for a week and loved it so much we will do the same if we have the opportunity to return. Very clean and comfortable with room to sleep four, 1 1/2 bathrooms, full kitchen and outdoor deck with seating for four off the kitchen. Everything was perfect including Vlad's friendly greeting, orientation to the...

I can't say enough about our stay at the Heren B&B. After not-so-great accommodations in Paris, Ken and Vlad's canal view apartment suite was heavenly! Beautiful views, gorgeously renovated full apartment, and a spa-like bathroom-- we could not have asked for more. Vlad was super friendly, showing us the apartment and returning each morning during breakfast to see if we...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
