Perfect location, perfect hosts and couldn’t have asked for more! Breakfast was perfect, and some great local places were recommended. There is an amazing market just around the corner on a Saturday and it’s close to everything you might need while being in a quiet neighbourhood. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 👍🏻
This is a B&B (Bed & Breakfast) in a beautiful part of town. We walked everywhere - we were able to get to the train station, Anne Frank House, and Rijksmuseum all with a brisk 20-30 minute walk. There are also trams closer if you prefer not to walk so far. We are a family of 5, and we had the room at the top of the stairs with bunk beds, which suited our family very well. We had to pay extra for the 5th person, which was due in cash upon arrival, along with the city tax (this was made very clear in advance). This is a small B&B, so it will have advantages and disadvantages over a hotel. There is no registration desk - the owner has to greet you when you arrive, so she asks for an estimated arrival window, to be sure she is home when you get there. There is no sign outside, so be sure you know the address and the host's name, so you can ring the right doorbell when you get there. It is a yellow door. I've got a picture of it attached here. The host was very responsive to our requests (more clean glasses, etc.) but keep in mind that this is just one person, so you may not get an immediate response, like you would in a hotel. Breakfast was served on weekdays at our choice of 8 or 9 am. She would knock on the door at precisely the time selected and bring in a tray. The food was typical European breakfast, with bread and cheese, jam or peanut butter, orange juice, sometimes yogurt, and a few other things. Coffee (French press) and tea are available in the room self-serve. When we were finished, we put our tray outside the door for her to pick back up. The host lives in the same house with the B&B guests. She told us which was her door and told us we could knock on it any time we need something. Of course, she would not necessarily always be there. We just ended up leaving her a note the few times we needed something, since it was never urgent, and she always got us what we needed very quickly. One thing we enjoyed was the small playground in the courtyard that we could see from our window on the back of the house. It is called the "Chicken Playground" because in the middle there is an enclosure with chickens and rabbits. My younger kids visited there every day to work off some excess energy.…
No customer service!! VERY RUDE. If you have issues upon arrival there is no number to call and talk to anyone. Only a recording to email them for check in info and then they do not respond. When you are forced to find another hotel, they will not refund your money. They are not even decent enough human beings to offer a partial refund. They will only tell you that it is not their fault that the building nor mailboxes or anything is labeled as B&B Jordaan and that you are lying when you tell them about the issues you had locating the place to check in. If we had been able to check in they were going to take another 100 euro per night for deposit and parking in area was 75 euro per night. Take your hard earned money and find another location...this place is not worth the risk.
This place is very well located thats for sure ,its quite expensive we paid 330 euros for two nights!its very basic but clean, the lady at the arrival asked us to pay in cash ,its was late she finally accepted to get paid the next day!no breakfast saturdays ans sundays. Everything could have been fine but on the sunday morning they tried to open the door at 9 and made a lot if noise. She basically kicked us out at 10 beeing rude and agressive!
On the plus side this is nicely located in the Jordaan next to trams, food and canals. Room was small but clean. On the minus side we were required to give a 30-minute arrival window, which was a pain to meet, room was not cleaned during the stay, towels not changed, etc. Room was up a short steep winding staircase that was not well lit. Breakfast came to our room on a tray at either 8 or 9 (again a tight schedule), no dining room to enjoy. Just think the owner doesn't have the time needed to make it a welcoming accommodation.
