Very nice place. Good cakes. Amazing relaxing atmosphere. Will come back. Service is very good, but not fast. Recommend it for families with kids. Girls will love it. So come and enjoy. Part of my family think that this is the best cafe in Amsterdam

We have just come back from staying here for the weekend and can honestly say that I love this place!! It's got character and made us feel like we were getting 'the real amsterdam' which you wouldn't get if you stayed in a chain (or normal) hotel. Our room was the green room and had an en suite shower room.... More

We needed somewhere near family and found this gem, super close to the tram and museum district. We had the huge room with the bathroom, but would have been equally happy to stay in one of the 3 rooms that share a bathroom. Super light, clean and great location, and of course, the coffee and cake are an added bonus

We chose the cake under my pillow hotel because of the great location. We got the blue room which has the shower and the toilet across the hallway. Unfortunately you don't get breakfast served, you need to make it on your own. However, you can always go in the kitchen and grab a drink or something to eat. (For free)... More

We got a reasonably cheap last minute deal for this B&B when there was not much choice available, yet it was absolutely perfect. Very friendly staff in the cafe downstairs (with gorgeous cake that we even got free vouchers for! Win!) that were very helpful and we were shown to our room right away. Really nice rooms and all the... More

The great location made getting around Amsterdam easy, The biggest negative is that the rooms are up two very steep and narrow flights of stairs. Definitely not a place for the physically limited. Breakfast is a modest do it yourself arrangement. The second day we found a great breakfast place down the street, which was a much more appealing arrangement.

When a close friend found out that my partner & I were going to coincide with her in Amsterdam she suggested we checked out this place because it was recommended to her & she was going to stay there. This was going to be my third visit to Amsterdam & when I realized how convenient the location was going to... More

Everything about this B&B was perfect. We stayed in Amsterdam for a few nights to break-up travel between Asia & NAmerica. We could not have asked for a more perfect landing pad between flights. And we had cake everynight for dessert, too! Right on the Tram line from the Train station. And easy walk to the VanGogh, inner canal streets... More

My Auntie's Cake is the cake bakery or "parlor" at street level below this B and B. It is just a colorful fantasy of cakes! A visual feast, but even better are the actual cakes! The place in the Pijp is listed in the National Geographic Traveller's Amsterdam book, but I can't find a listing on Trip Advisor just for... More

Confortable and very clean rooms in the heart of the city, very close to the Heineken Experience, walking distance from the most famous museums of Amsterdam. Below the B&B you can also delight of a delicious piece of cake! For sure it will be my sleep adres during the next visit to Amsterdam. I recommend!!

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
