Excellent location. Rooms on the small side but very comfy beds. So much to do and see within walking distance. Right next to lovely park. Good breakfast. Reception very helpful and provided top tips on tram routes, walking routes. Excellent stay in Amsterdam

This hotel is in a great location very central. Reception were helpful. Room was ok but the floor was in need of a good Hoover. Big disappointment when we discovered we had a mouse in the room. Hotel didn't seem very surprised, couldn't move us to another room so moved us to another hotel . Wasn't a good experience.

Hotel staff friendly and welcoming, good breakfast. Top floor room light, airy and clean (one flight of stairs to climb as lift did not go to top). Near to Vondelpark and museums. Would stay there again.

It was quite a tight squeeze for four people in the room. We did not have enough cupboard space. However the beds were very comfortable and clean. The room was very clean and was cleaned well every day, however I would have liked a change of bed linen at least halfway through our stay of 7 nights. Towels were changed...

This hotel was a great value for the money with a friendly and helpful staff. It is located within a 10 min walk to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. There is also a tram stop close by to take you to the city center, flower market, Dam Square, Red LIght District, Central Station, etc. Lines # 2 or 5. There...

OK, it's probably nothing new for Amsterdam hotels, but the rooms are very small and not really maintained. The shower cabin in our room didn't have one door and the cleaning was more like trace leaving. The beds are very tough and pillows more for elephants than people. The receptionist couldn't find a bottle opener in the hotel. Over the...

My room is right next to the main stairwell and overlooks the street. There is no air conditioning, so the room gets quite warm in the early afternoon, but that's not a big deal - The park is less than a half block away. Pros: The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our flight arrived very early in the morning,...

We spent one night in this hotel in March 2013, it was Bad!!! I needed a good night sleep, and I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. 1. Drunk teenagers kept knocking at doors during the whole night. 2. Small double room means no space to move at all. 3. The bathroom wasnt really clean. 4. The...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
