We stayed here for four nights in April 2023. We had a top corner room facing the rear of the building. The room was small, as is typical for many European hotels, with a full-sized bed, a wardrobe, two chairs, little side tables, and a ledge by the window. We were able to fit our large suitcase into the wardrobe, but it was a tight fit. We had a small private bathroom. It was clean and there was good water pressure, but the shower was open to the rest of the bathroom and water splashed all over the floor, making a bit of a mess after each shower. There was a large flat-screen TV placed on the wall. The wi-fi signal was excellent, even into the evening. Hotel facilities were good. The entrance contains a bar area with plenty of seats facing a nice view of the street. Hotel employees were always pleasant and helpful. Our room price included morning breakfast, consisting of a little “tower” containing items typical of a continental breakfast (e.g. pastries, dish of meat and cheese slices, hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt, condiments). The hotel has no restaurant, serving only some light snacks and desserts in the evening. Drawbacks included a tiny little elevator that didn’t go to the very top floor. Also, our room could have used a “refresh,” such a new coat of paint and a new “girl” decal (which was peeling). Location was excellent, right on Frederiksplein. A tram stops right on the plein, and there were many stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. Many attractions, such as the Rijksmuseum the Dam, were just a few tram stops away. At night the area was very quiet. I had no issues walking around at night, but, as usual, one must always be aware of their environment when out and about in the evening. Recommended as a nice mid-range hotel in a good location. …
