What an inspired choice this was, to book 5 nights here in the Hotel De Koepoort. Location was just a short walk from the town harbour, even closer to the main churches and shopping areas and some very good restaurants. This hotel did not do evening meals, but this hardly matters. Breakfast was superb, and the staff helping out so helpful and friendly. Excellent selection of Breakfast items - all of which, were fresh and enjoyable. Joyce on reception, (as well as others, although I did not catch their names) went out of their way to be extremely helpful, and gave us some useful hints as to what to see and where to eat. Our room on the top reached by some steep steps, and possibly the slowest lift (elevator) in the Netherlands. The room, itself was great, close enough to clearly hear the Koespoort - (city gate) Carillion to hear the hourly chimes, and single bell on the half hour! Nicely decorated, very good bath room with a jet pool bath. Very large and comfortable bed, no fridge, but the trek downstairs to the bar was well worth it. Nice hot shower, although we had to improvise and built a drainage dyke ( with towels) to stop the room from flooding. Enkhuizen is a great place to visit, a place to enjoy the peace, calm and charm. The Hotel De Koepoort is a happy extension of this. A wonderful place to stay, and with a great staff that were a joy to talk to, albeit in English.

Stayed for couple of nights and i was very pleased and happy. Can see how this is one of the best hotels in this small little cosy town. Many good reasons to stay here but there are also room for some improvements to make it even better! Hope that the staffs read these for feedback and ideas. The positives: - Great service as the staffs speak very good English with confidence. The warm hospitality makes guests feel very welcomed. They are also very helpful with suggestions and help whenever needed. - Rooms are cosy with modern design. Bed is comfortable and plenty of pillows in all types are provided. They even provided bedroom slipper when requested. Room temperature can also be set easily with air-condition working well. - Breakfast is much better especially with warm food selection. - Nice gym & yoga room, although not all machines are in working condition The improvement needed: - Soundproofing for rooms can be better - Ensure gym machines are in working condition (not for show only) - Housekeeping standard to be kept consistent (some days the clean down were not complete). Also, why leaving behind a bathroom sweeper in the shower area? - Replace cheap plastic/paper cups in the room and toilet with glasses (to align with your green messages) - Too tight with toilet amenities supply (strictly only 1 small tube of shampoo and body gel each day). Provide body lotion and hair conditioner as well. - Extend some food varieties for breakfast and snack menu - Staffs to wear mask if visibly unwell during working Still highly recommended to stay here for its overall standard as compared to other hotels in the vicinity area. Look forward to another wonderful stay in my next visit.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming that we joked after staying here that if we had stayed another few days we would have ended up a part of all their families. The little touches like hand written notes in your room on arrival, so much personal pride in their town leading to great recommendations for what to see and eat, the front desk attendant eager to see us to wish two of us happy birthdays (which were that week), and even recommendations for our next town. We all slept like babies in their beds, ate well in the morning, and were sad to leave. Enkhuizen is gorgeous, though the folks here will make it easy to return many times in the future.

Due to Covid, I could not travel and despite days of notice, they did not accept my cancellation nor did they offer to change it for another day. Really disappointed by that. For anyone who is considering this hotel, I would chose another one where they really consider clients as human beings. Ya

A beautiful hotel, very good location, extremely friendly staff, very quiet, in an old house near the old town gate, but large and fully modernised rooms. Very good breakfast. Reasonably priced snacks and small meals if you don’t feel like going out for lunch or dinner. Great air condition and WiFi.

This hotel has very friendly staff on reception, who genuinely want to help you. The biggest disappointment for me was the breakfast. It was self service, which was fine, but the scrambled egg was very dry, the sausages had been boiled, as they were swimming in water. So we stuck to bread, cheese and ham, which was ok. The only other downside was the location. It is about a 20 minute walk from the town centre, so we would have stayed closer to town. An average hotel stay, nothing special apart from the staff on reception.

After a long time stayed at the hotel, a bit further from the main station but still central. Updated rooms which are spacy and with nice bathroom and expresso in the room. Good wide bed only downside no working table. Nice to be able to open windows. Moderan design of lobby and bar / breakfast area. Decent breakfast with enough and good coffea machine. Pricewise 100 euro with breakfast.

Always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. This was my first travel for nearly 18 months and although there were some issues with covid rules and acceptance by Dutch authorities of the NHS Covid app, the staff were lovely and tried to sort things out....which they did. A warm welcome, always (stay here fairly frequently or did before all the restrictions) very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Great little hotel!

We stayed here during Mother's Day. The hotel is modern and looks very fresh. Nice location too. The family room is good for 4 people and has a nice whirlpool tub. Due to COVID the restaurant is closed but they served a nice breakfast in the room. For dinner, we ordered delivery. The only disappointing experience was upon check out we wanted to explore the city for 2 hours or so but the receptionist said that we could not leave our car at the hotel's parking lot (it was a big parking with only 2 cars parked). We arrived early evening the day before and there was a heavy rain so we were not able to walk around. A little extra service would have made a difference considering that there was a lot of empty parking space at the hotel on a quiet Sunday morning. It's always this extra customer service that makes a difference.

We stayed here for 1 night with our 3 year old daughter. The hotel is only a few minute bike ride from the train station. Nice quiet location. The hotel is very modern with nicely designed interior. On the ground floor the is a nice bar and there is seating outside on the sidewalk. Also there is a roof terrace that was always quiet. We booked a triple room which was 2 single beds put together and a sofa bed. Room was very clean. We had a corner room overlooking the Koepoort. We visited in the summer and the room has air conditioning but we just opened the windows and the room cooled down fine. One major bonus was a large whirlpool tub! We did not expect that. Amazing to relax in it after the day. Our room also had a separate stand up shower. The room has a safe but I couldn't figure it out so didn't use it. Bottled water is expensive in the room so buy whatever drinks and snacks you need from Albert Heijn which is very close by. Due to COVID they do not have buffet breakfast but they give you bags of breakfast just outside your room at the time of your choosing. Breakfast was plenty for us. Croissants, rolls, ham, cheese, yogurt, juice, etc. You can help yourself to coffee downstairs. We ate in our room but you are welcome to eat your breakfast in the dining room downstairs or outside. Staff were friendly and helpful. Small negative for me was the Koepoort bell would ring every hour. I went to sleep just before 11pm and it woke me up. The last time I heard it was midnight and it woke me up at 7am. So I assume it does not ring through the night. I am a light sleeper so recommend bringing earplugs if you are as well.
