I was impressed with the hotel’s efforts to keep visitors safe from coronavirus. Upon arriving there is a hand sanitizer station to use as soon as you check in. We met with the owner Henk and received excellent recommendations about sites to visit and restaurants. He provided us with a custom map of the city where he marked points of interest. Henk was great about including our 9 year old son in the conversation too. Our room looked like the pictures online and was stocked with a new bottle of hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes. The beds were fantastic and the bathroom was recently updated. The bathroom was spacious with a nice bright interior. For breakfast we were treated to fresh squeezed orange juice, warm croissants and fresh fruit. The breakfast room had been divided into individual cubes for seating to keep guests safe while maintaining bright charming Dutch feeling. We all had our own hand sanitizer at our tables. We visited on a warm week with 33 degrees. Our room had a high quality fan and the window opened fully which was nice. It is good to note that the stairs in this property are steep so if you have a mobility issue it might not be the best spot for you. We loved the location. Such a great spot to easily walk to see things. You can walk to most spots in the downtown area within 10-15 min. We had a great visit to the Jopen Church Brewery. In addition there is a convenient parking garage within a 5 min walk. I look forward to visiting again!!

I arrived and was greeted by Henk and Annemarie. Upon my arrival I was offered a very nice coffee and given a map. Henk thoroughly explained the many highlights of the area. Henk assisted in a dinner reservation that I would not have been able to attain on my own. The property is immaculate and the service is up to royal standards. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. There is fruit, coffee and tea available anytime. There is also an honor bar with water, wine, beer and the like. I awoke refreshed in my room that was very comfortable. Thank you Henk and Annemarie for a delightful stay.

This is a charming little hotel a few minutes walk from the Market Square and St Bavo Church. Our hosts, Annemarie and Henk, were extremely helpful in all matters from telling us what to see, bike tours to providing us with an early packaged breakfast to meet our travel schedule. The rooms are basic but very clean and efficiently laid out. Breakfast room has everything one could want for a Dutch breakfast. Definitely worth coming back to in the future.

We stayed in Malts for several nights as a family with my parents and children also staying. The cheerful welcome from Anne-Marie and Henk was genuine and very welcome after a long flight from Sydney as was Anne-Marie's wonderful coffee! Our rooms were clean. comfortable and warm. We loved the underfloor heating in the modern bathrooms and the very comfortable beds. The orientation to Haarlem from Henk and helpful answers to any of our questions about local matters were so helpful. We all loved the breakfasts, there was heaps to choose from and they were such a great start to our days. My parents have already decided to stay again but this time when the weather in Haarlem is warmer! We travel regularly all around the world and Malts is defintely the best boutique hotel we've stayed in, recommend, recommend, recommend!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time staying here to visit the Christmas market. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Henk and Annemarie were great hosts and served a very good breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is well placed for quick transport links or wandering around Haarlem itself. We hope to return in the Summer sometime to see it in the better weather. I would happily recommend this excellent B&B.
