The Hotel Prinsenhof is a charming place right on a canal in Amsterdam. I have read reviews of this and similar hotels within the canal ring that complain about the steep stairs and the difficulty in carrying luggage. While this is true; it is precisely this feature which is part of the charm of these old buildings. Our rooms offered...

We booked this budget hotel as it was within walking distance of a party that we were attending. IJmuiden is unfortunately not a very pretty town and this hotel does not look very distinguished from the outside. However, our room was a perfectly reasonable size and in good decorative order. WIFI is free and worked well enough to be able...

I visited this hotel at the weekend with my wife and child as we were attending a Judo event in the city. The hotel is rather difficult to find, so a good stannic is essential. The one in my wife's car was dreadful in getting us from Calais to Amsterdam, but once we were near it was of great assistance,...

This hotel is in a quiet village not far from the seas. We stayed here whilst visiting friends nearby so did not need a restaurant in the area. The room was a family room, which was clean and adequate for our needs. As it is a small hotel the rooms are not large but the welcome by the owner and...

Great room, great breakfast, useful snack machine with good prices, short walk to shopping. The hotel seemed overly eager to convince us to eat supper in their restaurant, but we preferred to eat fast food as we were going to spend the next 10 nights eating in a cruise ship dining room. When we broke the news that we did...

Stayed here for one night. Handy for the boat to Amsterdam. Nice room, could have been better with thicker curtains and a better tv. I found I was awake a lot in the night because it was bright. The beds were not super comfortable. Seemed a bit lumpy and soft. Friendly staff and good basic breakfast which was included.
