Took a while to settle in, keys missing, couldn't easily figure out our rooms. Fairly clean, good WiFi, nice bathrooms and good breakfast in the morning. Linens and bedding appeared to be older in some of the rooms. Only soap provided, so be sure you have your other toiletries.

bad points: - The 4-beds room has got only 3 beds and mattress, but nobody told about it before - No free parking for guests - Very dirty house! Dirty sock and huge spots in corridor during 4 days! Nobady clean it. - Kitchen is in other building - Window in bathroom's doors - Very bad communication with owner -...

We have stayed at many wonderful B&B's in The Netherlands, but this was not one of them. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is close to the old town. However the B&B itself was grimy and the towels/linens very old and dingy. Also the owner was very brusque. Do yourself a favor and find someplace...

I booked a room here using booking.com. I was met by the owner, who took me to a different house around the corner which felt dirty and smelly the moment I walked through the door. We got to the room and it was already occupied, so the owner said they could not accommodate me. I had to pay double to...

Great location and good wifi but sadly those are the only positives. The rooms (I stayed in more than one) were dusty, the cleanliness of the bedcovers in doubt, the towels were threadbare with marks on some. The rooms themselves were not bad although be warned that the stairs are more like ladders so, unless you get the one downstairs...

Labeling this place as a BnB is a gross misnomer and the designation should be removed. At the VERY best, it 's a "Room for rent". The owner still keeps a day job, has 3-4 kids and manages via iPhone email. The room we got was marginal, hodge lodge , Salvation Army furnished and while recently painted, the drapes (red...

We have just returned from a cycling holiday around the Netherlands and stayed for two nights at Aan de Gouwe. As there were seven of us, we were in the small house around the corner from Aan de Gouwe itself. Our hostess could not have been more helpful, but is hindered by the geography and overall building approach in a...

We were visiting Gouda for a family wedding and booked two rooms as an ‘apartment’ for E55 per night in February as we wanted a private bathroom and to be self-catering. These rooms were on the second floor and quite a challenge to climb to, but probably good for the circulation! It looked as if both rooms had been very...

Positives: Very close to centre, quiet area, comfy bed, facilities for cooking, dining table in room, good-sized room, free parking 10 minutes walk away. Negatives: We didn't get off to the best of starts. Our hostess was not in when we arrived at 5pm. We had to drive around to find a parking space, not easy, then return to the...
