The staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly, and we were able to check in at about 12pm which was an unexpected bonus.
We had a comfort room which was on level -1, room 002. We weren't expecting to get any natural light so were pleasantly surprised to have windows and some light. Our room looked out onto a wall but this wasn't a problem.
The room was big enough and tastefully decorated with a large comfy bed, free room safe and an iron/ironing board. There was a kettle and a pod coffee maker, also 2 free bottles of water.
Bathroom was an OK size and very well lit for doing make-up etc.
The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. We had arrived by train at Den Haag HS station which was an easy 20 minute walk.
We used their bikes one day for a great day of cycling in a big loop (with some suggestions from the very helpful woman at Reception) north to Wassenaar, on to Leiden, out to the beach at Scheveningen, then to Madurodam (worth a visit! Hadn’t been since I was a kid – loved it), by the Peace Palace, and finally south to Delft, where we had a drink on the large main square before riding back to The Hague in time for wine and dinner. We did not have the hotel’s breakfast, but found many options nearby to have coffee and breakfast on our way to the train station.
As elsewhere in Belgium and the Netherlands on this trip, we found a lot of construction and road works going on everywhere, which was a bit of a pain when touring/cycling around town, with scaffolding covering many places, roads dug up and loud construction noises ongoing. But we enjoyed our stay, and would stay at Boutique Corona (which was also good value, we thought, for such a 4+ star hotel) again. Thank you!
It's a nice hotel, but the walls are a bit thin when other guests are coming through the hall way or are in the room next to you.
The room is not big, but it was spotlessly clean. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in. The bathroom was like new. There is a fridge and a safe in the room. Coffee and tea making facility. Bottled water replenished daily.
There wasn’t a sound to be heard. Even in the morning, when the housekeeping staff were on the corridor.
All the staff whom we encountered over the three days were excellent.
The location is perfect, close to shopping streets and the Mauritshuis is across the street.
The No. 1 tram stops nearby, going direct to the seaside at Scheveningen and to Delft.
We had breakfast at Palmette nearby each morning. Nice staff and great croissants.
The 385 bus from the central station goes out to the Louwman Museum. A great collection of cars.
Next time we are in The Hague we will stay at the Corona.
"Hotel is a 13 minute walk from Den Haag Central however you can also get there by tram"Read full review
