Perfect location, close to the city center and to Garre de Midi Station. Very clean, spacious rooms and great breakfast. Quiet expensive for a 2 star hotel but the service and the location are very good.

I selected the Hotel a la Grande Cloche due to its close proximity to the Midi train station where we arrived from Paris. It’s a short walk from the station through a middle/lower class but safe neighborhood. The hotel is located on the Place Rouppe, a large area with several nice sidewalk restaurants. “Emmanuel” at the front desk was very... More

We chose this place for location and value, and it worked well in those regards. As you could see from a map, it is halfway between Gare Midi and the historic centre, and the price was considerably less than other nearby accommodations. Pluses included considerable character, exceptional cleanliness and upscale linens, and a great breakfast in a fantastic setting. Beware... More

A la grande cloche is perfectly located: close to the city centre, but also to Midi station (great if you fly to Charleroi and then catch the City Shuttle to go to Bruxelles). It is a bit old inside, but clean. My room was very spacious, especially the bathroom!

Our room was spacious and very clean with a nice view over the Place Rouppe. The front desk staff were friendly. The included breakfast was a lovely treat - a good selection of fresh pastries/bread, cold cuts/cheese, yogurt, cereal and hard-boiled eggs plus coffee/tea/chocolate/juice. The location was good - a ten to fifteen minute walk to Grote Markt and all... More

I only stayed one night en route to a conference elsewhere. So please bear in mind that my impressions may not be as well informed as others. For anyone travelling by Eurostar and reasonably fit, this is an ideal location. It's an easy and direct 10 min walk from Brussels midi (South, not central) station, where the Eurostar terminates. The... More

My room was very large and comfortable with a large bathroom, overlooking Place Rouppe. The location is quite convenient, an easy walk to Grand Place and (as it turned out) the Midi train station. Many thanks to the kind gentleman at the desk who insisted that it was much faster and easier to walk to Midi (thankfully, I pack light)... More

4 nights, single room with private bathroom. I booked directly through the hotel’s website and free breakfast was included in the price. Note that some rooms have private bathrooms and some have shared facilities so take care when booking. The location is good for a tourism stay – an easy walk from Brussels Midi station (as well as trains, the... More

I used to live very close to Place Rouppe, and when I went bak to Brussels I wanted to stay in the area. I like the location as it is very close to the center and there are a lot of nice restaurant around (just across the street Houstiplou, for example). The hotel is a bit old and would need... More
