My wife and I stayed at the Dominican for one night for free because of a promotion from Marriott. The first thing I want to say about this cute little boutique hotel is location! Just 3 min walk from De Brouckere station in downtown Brussels, the location can't be beat! Check-in was smooth and quick. Early check-in was not allowed but we were able to drop our suitcases at the front desk and went out for a walk. Our room was a standard one bed room. Interior decor was very classical European with Gregorian chant playing in the backdrop. Bed was firm yet comfortable. Overall a very solid stay at the Domincan. If you want to be at the center of action in Brussels, then this is a good boutique hotel to stay at. For Marriott members, this is a Category 4 hotel, which means a Free-Night Certificate can be redeemed for a stay here, which I think is great value!

The Dominican in Brussels is one of my favorite hotels anywhere. Nice, intelligently designed rooms; perfect location (10-minute walk from Brussels Central; even less from the Grand'Place, yet quiet); outstanding staff. I've stayed there several times in the past five years and every staff member has been efficient and friendly. Breakfast is served in a lovely, open space: excellent buffet. Coffee from a machine, of course, so only fair, but otherwise high-quality food. In a large city like Brussels, a place like The Dominican is little short of a miracle.

We stayed at the Dominican in March 2020. The Dominican was selected based off suggestions from a Belgium friend. First, the hotel is super convenient to everything that you will probably want to do or need. 10-15 minute walk to the Brussels train station or a 5 minute walk to the Center Square. Yes, you are close to the tourist area, but the Dominican felt isolated from that in a good way. The hotel is very nice, with a welcoming staff and nice little lobby and outdoor inner garden. The basic room had a nice king size bed, with enough space for 2 people without issue. The bathroom was organized a little weird, but no issues. Room had enough plugs to charge up. If we make it back to Brussels, the Dominican will be the first call.

A short walk from the main square , doesn't look like anything special from the outside but beautifully decorated and designed inside - large rooms , very comfortable , very helpful and friendly staff - not sure about the music in the lifts though....

Dear Paul, Many thanks for sharing this and for giving us the maximum score! We are pleased to read that you liked the decoration and atmosphere of the hotel. Knowing the hotel used to be an old monastery, the music in the lifts tries to bring you back at that period of time, but of course, its a matter of personal taste! Hoping we can welcome you back again very soon. Kind regards, Maurits Kautz General Manager - The Dominican

I booked a one night stay for a special occasion using hotel points. As the sign by the entrance states "a sanctuary in the heart of Brussels". The impressive building is close to the Place Grand and hence has a perfect location for a stay in Brussels. The delightful hotel has a monastic theme to the decoration and furnishings with chants accompanying journeys in the lifts. The monastic theme continues in the corridors to rooms with doors on one side and a row of wall lights on the other. The room maintained a sense of luxury with a very comfortable king size bed, stylish furnishings and a modern, large-tiled walk-in shower with a glass panel that was a delight to use. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit salad; cereals with a selection of additional ingredients such as raisins, coconut, pistachios; special orders such as egg benedictine; a selection of quality bread and pastries; fresh fruit juices; freshly ground coffee etc. The restaurant is small but gives the impression of spaciousness. And, as with the rest of the hotel, gave an air of tranquility. Although our stay was on a Friday night and Saturday morning, there were not many people. My one regret was to only book one night. We will be back and we will stay here again.
