Hostel 47 has everything that a hostel needs. Nice rooms, cosy common areas, a kitchen and a nice free breakfast! It is located in a quiet street next to the canal, yet it is very central, 5 minutes walk from the historical center, nice bars, restaurants and coffee shops. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Ghent.

I would not recommend this place. There was a bad smell coming from the cellar when I got there. The whole place smelled. Cheap plastic mattresses with beds crammed into small rooms. It has all the charm of a penitentiary. There are much better hostels in Ghent.

I stayed in this hostel for one night with a friend and it was a great experience. The hostel is situated in walking distance 10 minutes) of the old city center of Gent. It's easy to get here by car, and the price for parking in the street is quite cheap: €3,50/day. The street where this hostel is located, is...

We arrived in Ghent on a short tour of Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg camping and hostels. We were greeted by a very friendly manager. The rooms were bright and clean and everything working. The hostel is a 5 minute stroll from the wonderful town of Ghent where there is fantastic architecture, interesting bars, and amazing squares. I will certainly return.

The hostel is located in a walking distance from the railway station. Close to central district and all sightseeing places are nearby. Two days spent were very memorable. A city for students. Cycles. Buses or trams are convenient. Hostel has kitchen. Breakfast is not elaborate however is sumptuous.

Unfortunately our time at Hostel 47 was wholly unpleasant. A lot of this was due to other people staying in the hostel talking loudly downstairs and in the hallways, and tramping up and down the stairs until at least 3:30am. This is not generally the fault of the hostel, however since there was were no night or security staff at...

A great hostel indeed! Location is within walking distance to the city centre. The hostel is very clean and up to standard! The only drawback was the amount of stairs to get to the top room. Apart from that, perfect hostel!

Great hostel in Gent. Well located, but quiet street and we could park our car just outside. Nice meeting the owner, really friendly and making sure everything was OK. We are a family of 5 and stayed in a private room on the 3rd floor and from the velux Windows, we had a good view of the centre. Very clean...

We couldn't fault this hostel. The owner was so friendly and the hostel is very clean and well located in a quiet area but near the old town and Dampoort station. We really appreciated the efforts put into accommodating both louder and quieter guests!
