I’ll start with the positives first. Fabulous location, very good bar area with a great welcome from friendly staff. Followed by a quiet, clean room with comfortable, small twin beds. We had a very good night’s sleep. Not so good, soap dispenser near wash sink was empty & other above the bath too high to reach. Drinking cups were tired & over used, just needs paper cups. Bath tub too high for people of an age, children & small legged adults to climb in & out of, plus bath was slippy. No tea/coffee facilities, basic plastic shades of lighting next to the beds which looks cheap & tatty. As for the towels - ours must be at least 10 or more years old. No pile, dingy & far too small. Outside corridors are in need of maintenance for example painting skirting boards. For a pretty city like Brugge this hotel group is letting its customers down. If the Novotel next door was open we would of stayed there instead.

Hotel is situated close enough to walk to market Square. It has a car park which 15.60 euro a day to park in. Room is comfortable no extras like a kettle if wanted. Only rating it 4 as there building works going on in hotel across street which started at 7.30 in morning would stay here again.

A gentle walk from the station, but central to all the sights, even allowing a quick call back during the day. Unlikely to need a car, but underground parking next door. A modern conversion of a convent. Typical Ibis functionality, which I like. I missed the deposit boxes, located by reception. For those requiring kettle facilities, none in the room. Strong environmental policy regarding cleaning, water, linen, & waste. Heating is on or off only. Breakfast is all varieties of continental. A juice squeezer, egg boiler, waffle maker etc, if you have the patience. The scrambled egg was excellent, none of that 'swimming in water'. Eurostar package via Brussels gives onward Bruges travel. I shall be back.

Staff and downstairs area all very nice. The rooms another matter. Old, dated small and dirty. The room we had booked we had to change and ask for a bigger room, could barely walk round the bed, never mind fit 2 of us and a suitcase in there! So we asked if a bigger room was available and we got given an ‘accessible’ room. Not great, but much better, at least we could walk round the bed. So dirty, we were due to stay 2 nights but it was too grimey in the room we cancelled the second night. Hairs around, dirt just generally didn’t even want to take my shoes off.

Dear Grace, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that you found our location convenient and our team welcoming. Our team strives to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere right from our lobby to the bar, and it is rewarding to know that this was highlighted in your experience. Regarding your concerns about the room size, we offer rooms starting at 16m², which are carefully designed to maximise space and comfort. We understand that preferences vary, and we are always willing to accommodate requests for different room configurations when available. We regret to hear that the cleanliness of the room did not meet your expectations. Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and our housekeeping team works diligently every day to ensure that all rooms are up to standard. Please rest assured that this does not reflect our usual standards, and we will address this internally. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back for a more memorable stay. We've stayed at the Ibis Centrum in Bruges a few times in recent years, but it had really gone downhill this year (Dec 2023). The Novotel in the same courtyard is currently boarded up ahead of refurbishment so it is rather like staying in, or very near a building site. The decor of the room in which we stayed (on the second floor) was quite tired and tatty and the proposed update of the Ibis later this year is well overdue. Of particular note is the shower facility, within the bath; it was extremely dangerous, slippery and unsteady. In addition it was necessary to step over about a 2 foot high bath side to get in it. Had I known at time of booking that the restaurant was no longer catering for evening meals, I would not have booked there. The breakfasts provided were satisfactory, but a little expensive for what was on offer. Finally I think most of the staff could also do with some refreshment as they were not overly friendly this time. To sum up, you might be best off leaving this hotel until work on both the Novotel and Ibis is complete.

Appearances belie the place. It looks dated, but the beds are very comfortable, the water is hot and a decent pressure, and the location is amazing. A really easy walk from train/bus stations, and once you're in, you're on a central "touristy" street in Bruges which has a lot of great shops/eateries on it already, but also has easy side street access to a load of other great places. Hard to get lost in Bruges, but particularly hard to get lost from this street! The breakfast is excellent, with a good selection of tasty food and drinks - mostly cold/continental food, but there are scrambled eggs, beans, chipolatas, toast, an american pancake maker/iron and a boiled egg machine. I loaded up on eggs at breakfast each day and then barely needed to eat til tea time 😄 Staff are friendly, place is clean even if some of the decor is tired. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Bruges. The location, the breakfast, and the comfortable bed all make it.

Ibis Brugge Centrum Bruges. We stayed at this hotel at the end of November (26th to 29th) for three nights to visit the Christmas Market. We were very dissatisfied with the room ( Room 13), It is in the bottom of the Hotel under ground with small windows that do not let any light in because of the rooms location and directly outside the windows are the Hotels air conditioning units. Which also means that there is constant noise. The room was dark and miserable and we needed to have the room lights on all the time. There where a number of other issues which I raised in a requested review from (survey@trustyou.com), I don't know where these reviews are published but I have not seen them online anywhere. I have received an apology from the Hotel but there has been no good will gesture or compensation offered

Dear John, We'd like to thank you for reviewing your experience. We're glad to hear that you found our location to be convenient for your visit to the Christmas Market. Our central position in Bruges indeed allows easy access to local festivities and attractions. We are, however, sorry to read about your dissatisfaction with your room. While our hotel is housed in a historical medieval building, we strive to provide comfortable accommodations for all our guests. We regret that the room allocated to you did not meet your expectations in terms of natural light and quietness. The design of the building does pose unique challenges, and we apologize if this aspect of your stay was unsatisfactory. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly take it into consideration. We hope to welcome you back for another visit. All the best,

Considering a large chain ........ Should have been better! Communal areas are fine and include friendly staff and decent breakfast, although cooked food could be improved. Scrambled eggs were a bit runny, mini sausages looked 1/2 cooked (anaemic), and not much else cooked to choose from! Plenty of cold options/bread/self service waffles. Rooms - booked 3+ months ago, supposedly a special offer, stayed on 3rd floor, attic room. Overall clean, however, our room felt antiquated and needed a refurb/rip out asap. Felt very claustrophobic and storage bad and not thought out enough. Need extra coat hooks on main wall for coats. Wardrobe/shelving very small and difficult to access. Bathroom was extremely tight, toilet facing wrong way and claustrophobic yet again! Good job we aren't large people or would have got stuck! Rather disappointed, will not be staying again, better option in an individual b&b!

We stayed for the Christmas market which was a 10 minute walk. There was a good priced car park next door although not part of hotel and filled up fast. Staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable but basic. The restaurant was cosy with a pleasant continental style breakfast.

NO tea or coffee making facilities in Bedroom. Shower turning hot and Cold, having to climb into the bath at 80 years old, slippy bath, WC too close to the wall for comfort, no shaving point, pathetic hairdryer, no seal between shower screen and bath so floor ended up wet and slippery too. Bedroom tiny could hardly get out of bed it was so close to the wall. bed uncomfortable pillows not supportive, One room light not working - reported nothing done. Half the TV channels not working - reported not rectified. Heating inadequate. Swimming pool advertised was in nearby Novotel which was closed for refurbishment. Breakfast poor, no mixed fruit, no bacon, hot food offerings the same everyday. Cold meats cheap and poor quality. This is the second time I've felt annoyed enough to complain the first being ibis Gent. We will not be using ibis again. BE WARNED.
