I'm not sure why this hotel isn't rated more highly. Compared to other hotels in the immediate vicinity it offered great value for money! The building used to be a consulate for Lucca, which was an independent republic... the owner is very knowledgable about this - and even

This was a classic small hotel with great hospitality. They preserved the original features of this hotel, so it was very beautiful! They also had a great complimentary breakfast buffet that was amazing! Lots of options and very good. They served breakfast in a 14th century

is there parking
Short answer = No parking at the hotel However there is nearby public parking just 50 meters from the hotel, in the same street is a small secure underground car park called Biekorf €8.70 per 24 hours. If this one is full, then goto Zilverpand which has >1000 places again €8.70 per 24 hours it’s 10 minutes walk to the hotel. At the train station, there is a cheaper option but it entails a short bus ride into town.

"Rooms facing the street might get some noise but it's quiet at night"
"Just enjoy the ambience of this wonderful hotel"
"All rooms face outside so if noise is a problem for a light sleeper take a pair of earplugs"
"Ask Hans for advice on where to eat...he led us to some great bistros away from the tourist traps on the main square."
"Room 16 cannot be faulted!"
