The Boutique Hotel Sablon garners praise for its modern and elegant atmosphere, with many guests appreciating the comfortable ambiance. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with spotless rooms and pristine facilities, though minor issues are occasionally noted. The service at the hotel is often highlighted, with staff earning rave reviews for their friendliness and attentiveness. While the amenities, including a sumptuous breakfast and a tranquil location, receive positive feedback, some guests consider the pricing steep, despite acknowledging the overall value. The rooms are well-received for their space and modern touches, yet a few remarks are made regarding size and maintenance. Nestled in a prime, central location, the hotel is a hit for its proximity to attractions, though parking can pose a challenge.

Excellent reception. Room can move in and number of minutes before the announced start (occupancy was quite low). Good location (short to parking silver sand and short to the market). Room in order (minus : only one pair of slippers / in the bathroom remains of used soaps etc.). Bedroom fine. Good coffee and tea facilities. Water provided in refrigerator.
From the pricey breakfast (35 € p.p.) we still expected something more. On request, both fried eggs and omelettes were made.

This was our first trip to Bruges, and we are so glad we stayed at Boutique Hotel Sablon. The location is perfect: on a quiet side street, but just a few minutes walk to the center of Bruges. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored historic building, with the rooms being completely updated. The common areas provide a comfortable setting to relax. And the staff was friendly and helpful.

Like all property, the most important detail for this hotel is its location, and it is perfectly situated close to the Christmas Markets, restaurants and shops while being tucked away in a quiet street. The hotel itself was fully renovated in 2019, just in time for the pandemic, so the rooms essentially still look fresh and new. They are not the biggest of rooms but well laid out with all that you need, such as a fridge, safe, coffee maker etc. The rooms are also quite quirky with interesting artwork and a light-up sink. Finally, the staff are excellent, friendly and efficient. There is a always a cold drink and cake available in the lobby which feels more like someone's drawing room than a lobby. A great place to stay for a few days in Bruges and highly recommended.

Dear We are so happy to read that you loved your stay in Bruges in Boutique Hotel Sablon. Also we would like to take the time to thank you for this review. The special artwork from around the world for the rooms and the rest of the hotel has been selected with care by the owners. The hosts are always here to do everything with passion for the guests. We don't have a typical lobby because we prefer to give our guests a special feeling in our livingroom. The cakes and the fresh fruit water are made with love by our breakfast hosts. Maybe till the next time! Kindest regards Team Sablon

This hotel is in a great central location for exploring Bruges on foot with plenty of restaurants , bars and shops close by.

Staff were very friendly and helpful when required. Can’t comment on breakfast or drinks as there were so many great options close by.

We found certain areas of the hotel needed a little more attention to detail ie. debris in lobby and staircase wasn’t hoovered during our 3 night stay.

Our room (room 3), appeared very tired. We were told that the air conditioning wasn’t working when shown to our room and there were multiple scuffs and marks along the walls and skirting boards. The power socket/light switch and toilet roll holder were both coming away from the wall in bathroom and the extractor fan was not working. There were also multiple dark hairs on the mattress protector.

The room seemed to have a strange odour that we could not identify and was persistent during our stay. We also felt that the storage for clothes etc was severely lacking and small things were missed for example no saucers for coffee cups/dirty spoons.

We booked this hotel mainly due to the numerous positive reviews on trip advisor/Google and were possibly just unfortunate with the room we were allocated.

We can only give our review based on our experience and feel that for the price paid, it did not represent good value. We would look to stay elsewhere when returning to Bruges.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so glad that you enjoyed the location of our Hotel aswell as the the Staff. How unfortunate to hear that you had a disappointing experience with your room. Our aircondition system is currently switched off as we are in winter time, and it is not required with the cold temperatures outside. Our staff usually explain this, aswell as how to switch on/off the radiators. We wish you would have signaled these inconveniences to our staff and they would have happily given you a different room. This way we would have made your stay enjoyable, aswell as sorted out the problems in your room. We do hope we can welcome you back in the near future and leave you with a much better impression of our hotel. Best regards, Team Sablon

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location in the old section of Bruges. Our room had a sitting area in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We decided not to purchase the room with breakfast included and instead explore the area for different options. We enjoyed having breakfast at Le Pain Quitidien. The hotel’s outdoor sitting area looked like a great place to enjoy a drink when the weather was nice. Unfortunately, it was a little too chilly or rainy while we were there. The hotel was an easy walk from the train station as long as you only had carryon suitcases. We really enjoyed staying here as it was centrally located to explore Bruges!

The best hotel surprise I've had in several years. Bruges can be very overcrowded and overpriced during the summer high season. This hotel is located in a quiet alley between two major streets in the historic center. I did wonder if the staff had secretly upgraded me because I was not expecting such a spacious room with an amazing and beautiful view of the city's bell tower at such a reasonable room rate (with breakfast!). The room was on the top floor and had a row of skylight windows and elegant touches. A severe thunderstorm hit the city shortly after I checked in, and I was happy to be ensconced in such a lovely room watching the lightning show outside while sipping a cappuccino. I loved the spa-like shower and the Nespresso machine in the room. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the common areas were quiet and calm. The breakfast offered many choices and delicious croissants (I went back for a second one). I only regret that I stayed for one night. I will find an excuse to to return to Bruges just to be able to stay here again.

Nice location, hearty breakfast. Spacious room, bed with view on toilet and bathroom. No door separates!! pity. No wiper to clean the toilet. According to the person at the reception, no scrub in hotels in Belgium for hygiene reasons!!! Obviously, fanotistic response since we were in other Belgian hotels and in all the rooms there was a wiper.
The next day we return to the hotel at 4:15 pm, no cleaning done. It was only around 4:30 pm that the maid showed up but wishing to rest, we told her it was too late.
For a price 2 nights at 350€ excluding breakfasts, we expected services more in line with the hotel's standing.
Stephan .

We stayed for 3 nights at The hotel Sablon as a group of 6 friends.
This really fits in with my definition of a boutique hotel. Quirky artwork as you come through the subtly lit passage way into the courtyard entrance.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Our rooms were a decent size and extremely comfortable with everything you would expect from a hotel of this calibre.
The breakfast was excellent with a very good selection of cold meats, cheese, pastries, cereal, fruit - you name it and it was there. Freshly cooked omelettes to order were wonderful too.
We had to leave at 6am to get the early train back to Brussels and the staff packed us a fantastic breakfast to take with us.
The location was spot on - a 5min walk from the main square and a 20min walk from the train station.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high quality and relaxing stay in Bruges.

Hotel Sablon hit all the musts. Location: great. Room: Lovely. Bed: comfortable. Breakfast: This was an A plus. Joy the attendant is so sweet and helpful. The breakfast room has plenty of room for people to move around and get their food from the buffet area. Eggs, sausages, salads, made to order fried eggs and omelettes.
Two things could use improvement. The rooms are decorated in a contemporary style with no closet and very few areas to place clothes or toiletries. A few more shelves or hooks or even a closet or dresser would be useful.
Also, the WiFi isn’t very strong and consistently our Outlook sent us messages about the website’s security certificate.

Visiting Bruges for the first time, I recently stayed at Hotel Sablon for two nights with a friend. The hotel is located in a fantastic location walking distance to all the main attractions, shopping and dining, but the best part is that the hotel is on a very quiet street so it is removed from the crowds and noise. Hotel Sablon is very charming with a beautiful outdoor courtyard space with lovely design features throughout the hotel. With great indoor and outdoor seating, the hotel gets wonderful natural light throughout. The dining room for breakfast is beautiful and they offer a delicious breakfast with even gluten free options. The hotel staff is warm and friendly with great suggestions and recommendations on restaurants and more. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed. I will definitely stay at Hotel Sablon if and when I return to Bruges and highly recommend the hotel!

Dear Mrs. Delaware, First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest in Hotel Sablon. We have family rooms available in the hotel. This room type has a double bed and a sofa bad for the children. If you would like to have twin beds for the children, It's best to book two separate rooms. One room with a double bed and the other room with twin beds. It's not a problem to give you 2 rooms next to each other. If you need any further information, you can always contact us directly by email. With kind regards, Julia Van Doninck

We are driving in to Bruges from Rotterdam - would anyone know the nearest place to park for a couple of days? TIA
Answer from Sue N

If you travel by car, we recommend Parking ZILVERPAND, at 300 meters from the Hotel. There are 2 entrances: Zilverstraat and also exit in Dweersstraat. €8,70 / 24H. If parking ZILVERPAND is not available, we can also recommend you public parking is 'T ZAND at 500 meters. 8,70 / 24H.
