A friend and I chose this as the base for a weekend trip to tour the Ypres area with our sons. Accommodation was clean and decor throughout looked new. Free wifi and the breakfast choice was just right before setting out for the day. Accommodation is a short walk from the market place and ideally located for touring the area.... More

I arrived late (just before the "8PM every evening" last post ceremony at Menin Gate) but owner Veronica was not concerned. She gave me all details needed to get settled and wifi access (excellent!) and shortest walk path to the Gate, and some brochures on the WW1 history of the area. Best of all, the breakfast was amazing!

I don't often stay in B&Bs, but this one would make me change my patterns. It is first rate in all respects. First, Veronique (sp?) is tireless, efficient, and friendly. Secondly, the room is large and comfortable, spotless too. The breakfast is superb, including eggs cooked to order. Its location is convenient, too, with just a short stroll to the... More

Ideally located to all the attractions. The provision of parking cards and information was most appreciated. The rooms were just fine, large and comfortable. Good breakfast and excellent hosts. A great place to stay.

Excellent location within easy reach of leper centre and within walking distance of the Menin Gate. The rooms are spacious with stylish en suite. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. This is as good as it gets , highly recommended. On street parking only bugbear.

My husband & I stayed at this b &b while visiting the WW1 sites. Veronique was a very gracious hostess and served delicious breakfasts with great variety. Our room was large & very clean (important!). The house is in a great location near the Menen Gate & museum but with a lovely park close by. Would highly recommend staying here.

My brother and I have stayed here on numerous occasions - it's so well situated and the whole experience is unfussy yet professional. Good breakfast choices and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Oh, and the water, be it sink or shower, is instant. Thanks Veronique !

The B&B Hortensia is in a great location close to the centre of Ypres. I chanced upon this B&B on Expedia but booked directly and am pleased I did. Parking was convenient and the B&B was only about a 10 minute walk from the shops and restaurants. We were greeted and showed to our rooms which were bigger than I... More

Fantastic B and B, Veronique made us very welcome and felt like she was letting us into her home. Even leaving the key for us to pick up. my dad was a little ill and she went out of her way to help and even made up some food for the next day's trip unasked. Perfect
