B & B Hortensia is definitely the place to stay when visiting the lovely city of Ypres. The location is central to the city square, parking is close by, rooms are comfortable and the owners, Michael and Veronique, are friendly and accommodating. For Australians visiting the battlefields area around Ypres, we highly recommend the Hortensia as an affordable, alternative choice...

The Hortensia is a pleasant B&B in a handy location on the southern entry to the town. We had two rooms that had recently been repainted and, while they were simply furnished, were warm and comfortable. Breakfast each day was excellent - individally cooked with fresh breads from the bakery down the road. Central Ieper was an easy walk, and...

We were helped from the outset by the owners, who came out to advise us on parking. We were then invited to take coffee and cake - which was a very nice touch. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. One of our rooms overlooked the rooftops at the back of the house and the other room overlooked the street...

We only stayed one night, but can certainly recommend BB Hortensia, very clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast was excellent,a choice of scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon as well as the usual continental breakfast, and the bread was lovely.
