Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The greeting at check in was delightful from the lady. She was really friendly and helpful. Room was delightful. The bistro was clean and tidy, and food excellent. My only minor moan was the noise from the road. Cannot be helped due to 14th century listed property. The breakfast was divine. Check out was as good as check in. I'll stay here again and would recommend it.

I can highly recommend The Crown Inn. The food is excellent, affordable and presented professionally with attention to detail. The look and feel of The Crown is warm and friendly and you get very well looked after by all. Everything about The Crown is first class and once you visit you will keep going back. It's THAT good!

This was our second visit to the Crown and on both occasions we have taken advantage of their very good Dinner + Bed & Breakfast offer. The accommodation is both stylish and comfortable. Both our meals were excellent - my wife having the Venison Parcels, while I enjoyed the Lamb. Chris and Nichola could not make you feel more at home. This place is a real gem.

The Crown Inn is an unusual bed and breakfast offering 2 beautifully thought out rooms, a double and a twin. Our bags were carried up the wooden stairs where we stayed in the twin room which has an exceptionally high quality en suite shower room, upstairs from the bedroom. Between the 2 rooms is a lovely' kitchen' area which has a fabulous coffee machine and fridges for each set of guests. An extremely high quality, individual choice of continental breakfast is served at a time to suit, which you can eat at a small table and chairs by the window in the comfort of your own room. There is a fabulous epicurean restaurant there which is imaginative and high quality. I can highly recommend a visit to this unique establishment. :-)

A very quiet location in the middle of fields just outside Appledore - perfect to re-charge your batteries and visit Rye and Tenterden. Very good food all made on the premises with twice cooked cheese soufflés and ice cream to die for - listed in the Michelin Bistro Guide with two delightful rooms: one double and one twin, with the bathroom up stairs in the room. Breakfast is brought to the kitchen outside the room each morning - fresh pastries, fruit and yoghurt.

My Mum and I had a weekend away and stayed at the Crown Inn for a night. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome - Nikki and Chris were very kind and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We had dinner in the evening which was delicious - again, the staff couldn't have been more attentive and it was a really lovely evening. Highlights were the elderflower and salted caramel ice creams! Breakfast was served up where we were staying and again was delicious - fresh pastries, fruit and orange juice. We were thoroughly spoilt and would highly recommend the Crown Inn. We are looking forward to going back!

Went as a group of 8 and recieved a warm welcome from the Landlord.Drinks were quickly handed out and we began our lovely evening. Menu choice was about 6 main and 6 starters which is fine as you know its local produce and created to order.I chose the cheese soufle which was amazing and our friends all chose something different and all were delighted.A couple of us are very fussy so as the chef Nicky took the order it was great to ask advice and if something could be left out. Main courses were just as lovely and the flavours were beautiful. The portion size was just right and presentation looked great too. Dessert..wow what a choice .I chose a homemade treacle tart which was amazing..homemade merangues with raspberries ..brioche bread and butter pudding..all homemade. Then a surprise chocolate homemade birthday cake. Delicious coffee to finish. Interior decoration is lovely and bright and clean. The loos(important to us ladies) beautifully clean.Gardens lovely. Children under 12 only during the day.Looking forward to returning soon.Wonderful!!!!

Although the interior is modern, this old inn has plenty of charm. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was good. The salt crusted lamp rump was delicious and the ice cream to die for! Although relatively expensive, it is worth it for a special occasion.

As ex-locals we returned to visit friends in both Tenterden and Rye and having searched the internet, we found a site for the "Crown" in Stone in Oxney with which we had a passing acquaintance. We spent a very relaxed weekend - Chis and Nicki, the owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The accomodation was oustandingly good. Location quiet and peaceful. Parking easy and all within easy reach of both Tenterden and Rye. We enjoyed our dinner on Saturday evening - Excellent choice on the menu - good food and wine. Can't wait to book again in the Autumn. Can't think of any complaints!

I was only at the crown Inn for one night but the greeting was warm, as were the real open fires and the food was delicious. The chef is Nicky and, despite apparently being self taught, she produces gorgeous/thoughtful food. The difficulty was choosing! Comfortable bed and rather groovy bathroom. Worth a visit.
