I am currently staying at the Alfamar with my 14 year old daughter. We wanted to share a 'here and now', 'down to earth' and 'practical' review with you. Firstly, I should say that I booked our trip only 24 hours before travelling after pouring over 100s of last minute holidays and monitoring the forecast! Despite the somewhat negative reviews,...

I stayed at this hotel when I was taking part in an excellent training camp with 2 09 Events. The hotel is very big and basic and dated. Very good location right on the beach, although a 15 walk to the local shops and restaurants in Falesia. The rooms are large and adequate. Sound proofing is bad. One night I...

Well... I booked this trip first, and then I´ve read the -mostly negative- reviews first. Considering the price I´ve paid, it wouldn´t have changed my mind, anyway. But, they lowered my expectations, basically. Maybe this is why I´ve been surprised. On the other hand, I don´t understand some reviewers here. The most common problems with this place were the location...

We booked an apartment, only to be put in something we couldn't even stay in ..It was appalling, dirty, worn out, better described as delapidated. Had to pay extra to move into the actual hotel which was a bit better..terrible location, there's nothing nearby.you need to have a car.never again! !

My husband, sister-in-law and I stayed for 10 days this January, it was very good value and the resort and beach, are great. The staff were nice, especially Vitor. My husband and I are returning this March for two weeks!

Really good hotel, big and clean room, nice beds, free WiFi, beautiful spot, very nearby the beach. Breakfast is good. But don't have dinner in the restaurant. The buffet is really, really bad. Not warm enough, not tasty at all and too expensive.
