We two female friends stayed here last september. Will not be going back, to apartment block anyway, no air conditioning, blocks really need to be knocked to ground and rebuilt.no security, doors open 24/7. Cleaning staff work hard there, up and down stairs as no lift, and they always smiling. The hotel looked nice, reception staff very unfriendly, abrupt and...

Villas built in the 70's need knocking down, old and tired. Appliances were dangerous in the villa and unfit for use. Reception staff are so rude unless you are German, British Citizens are treated like something they've just walked in on their shoes. Domestic staff lovely though and hard working. Dangerous windows and doors creating very poor security. Nothing for...

We have booked b&b in Algarve gardens. When we arrived we were pleased that the bungalow had lots of space, but very basic deco reminding me of post communist holiday flats with very basic design. When we wanted to cook a basic meal and use a kettle the electricity stopped working as the fuse box dates probably 1970s After a...

I had been to this resort 15 years ago and to be honest it hadnt changed at all. We stayed in a villa and we were surprised at how spacious it was. It was cold in January at night so we spent a lot of our evening up in our heated bedroom. We had dinner the first night in the...

Very nice place close to the one of the most amazing beach, rooms look a little old but are very clean. Very good place for making trips along the south coast of the Portugal. Very good place for people who want to make morning jogging on the beach.

Arrived on 31st Dec in evening. Fortunately taxi knew to check in at main hotel. New Year fireworks could be seen from my balcony which was lovely. I was however disappointed with accomodation. Studio blocks old and tired. No lifts ok for me but not for anyone who struggles with stairs. Crumbling balcony, sliding doors heavy and difficult to open....

This review is based on staying in the block of flats in the hotel gardens. The good things are being very close to an excellent beach. Mostly sunshine every day. Use of the limited facilities in the mother ship Alfamar hotel and it's cheap. The downsides are the rooms are dumps. Think 1970 Butlins chalet. Everything was worn out 20...

Just a short boardwalk and you are on the beach. This place is so peaceful and the staff are friendly and helpful. I stayed in one of their studio apartments which had everyhthing I wanted. The grounds are immaculate and the main hotel just drips luxury. There is a very reasonably priced supermarket just a couple of minutes away and...

We arrived here on 24th December for a week long holiday. Booked through On The Beach so fairly cheap. Let's start with our arrival. It's not clearly posted that you need to check in at the Alfamar, so we spent a good 20 minutes trying to find another reception. Finally got checked in and had to walk back to the...

We booked for a cheap week and have just come home. First impressions were good transfer from Faro airport took less than 30 minutes. The hotel is dated as stated in previous reviews and the accommodation is in need of refurbishment but the villa we were in was kept spotlessly clean every day and fresh towels if required you just...
