Stayed here for two nights with friends in November.
The location is very good - close to the old town and lots of bars and restaurants. The view from the bar/restaurant at the top of the building is perfect and the outside deck is a great place for a drink while watching the sun go down.
The rooms are quite large but the decoration is best described as Ikea functional. Fine by me though - I don’t go away to hang around in a hotel room! Beds were comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. There is a small fridge which had bottled water in it and the room safe is a decent size - you should be able to get an iPad in it. The bathrooms are a little dated but again plenty of space and the water pressure in the shower is fine. You do get some noise from the street but it wasn’t too intrusive.
Front desk were very helpful and there is a luggage room where they are happy to store your luggage both before you check in and after you leave. We had a look at the gym and spa - the gym is quite well equipped but the spa was a little disappointing. The pool was closed for the duration of our stay which was also unfortunate.
Breakfast was very good with lots of choices.
The best part of this hotel though is the bar. It is a little on the expensive side but the bar staff are excellent and very friendly, the range of drinks good, and as I’ve already mentioned it boats great views across the Ria Formosa and the city. It was quiet while we were there and all in all, a brilliant place to hang around and chat with my friends.
We stayed here for two nights. It is a block from the bus station, which was very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby staff spoke very good English, but was not particularly helpful. We did not have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. We ate dinner the second night at the hotel's rooftop restaurant. The service at the restaurant was very good, and the view at night was lovely. The food was good, but fairly expensive. The pool is very small, but clean.
Pleased we selected Hotel Faro for our first visit to the Algarve. Modern & spacious with excellent facilities. Ana on reception during check-in noticed from passport it was my birthday. Got pleasant surprise at 7pm in our room of champagne & cake- what a way to welcome & look after guests & for us, start to our holidays. This extra touch is so meaningful. Breakfast was excellent with extensive choice, rounded off by having coffee on the 4th floor terrace overlooking the marina. Enjoyed 2 very relaxed & de-stressing massages from Mario- very gentle & knowledgeable masseur. Would recommend highly. Will definitely come back- only downside was our 1st floor room overlooked an old property undergoing renovation & covered with tarpaulin- not much of a view !
Hotel Faro most definitely the best place to stay in Faro. Myself and friends had a lovely time staying here. The room was good, clean, quiet, up to date and had a large window which opened fully allowing good amount fo air in. Staff were exceptional- all seemed to love their job. The little cocktail bar upstairs served the most delightful and creative cocktails by lovely gentlemen who had no problem bringing the drinks out while we were on the loungers enjoying the sun on the rooftop. Pool is a bit small and only catches the sun at a certain time of the day. View is spectacular. Breakfast buffet had a great selection, we really enjoyed our breakfast with the view. The restaurant we experienced on one of our nights there, very upper class with requiring a distinguished pallet for fine dining with a hefty bill at the end. We couldn't fault the food but just not to our fancy. During our stay the ceiling in the hallway on our floor collapsed with a leek resulting in water all over the hall, assume someone may have left a bath running on the floor above or something along those lines. Overall great experience in this hotel for a long weekend. I would recommend staying here for a little break of a few days.
The best location and service! Staff was really nice from reception to housekeeping. The rooftop view of the sunset is a must! Restaurant and bar at rooftop! Breakfast is great, going from Portuguese to English food and not forgetting gluten free, dairy free and fit options. Accomodations are pretty good, I slept really well. Oh, there's also a gym and spa. I will definetely go back!
