We can't say enough good things about Soul & Surf. This is the third location (of 3) that we have visited and each time we go we always have the best experience. We are able to relax, feel nourished with incredible food, feel challenged with surf, learn and always have a great experience. Each location is different, but there are many similarities as well, which we appreciate. The staff are always very warm and welcoming, the environment is very comfortable and the rooms are just enough to meet your needs. We can't wait to come back again!

This is my 3rd visit to Soul & Surf and first to the Portugal location.
Amazing staff, couldn’t do enough for you, always welcoming, polite and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Great yoga and surf instructors. Really like the style of surf coaching and the surf theory is a really nice addition each day. Healthy, nutritious and delicious food and great value for 3 meals a day to be included in the price.
It is quite a packed agenda if you do all the activities but it’s also super flexible and there’s no pressure to join in any activities if you don’t want to. It’s a great location for a solo traveller as there are many other people travelling alone.
The site is about 10 minute taxi into Lagos. There isn’t a huge amount within walking distance but you honestly don’t really need it and this makes for a really peaceful, quiet location which is fantastic. There’s lots of other places a taxi ride away by if you want to go out and about.
Massage therapists are also absolutely amazing and would highly recommend pre booking a treatment so you don’t miss out.

We didn't stay with soul and surf but booked our 1st surfing lesson with them.
My daughter and I met them at the beach after booking a short notice lesson and we were warmly greeted by Andy.
After the warm up which included some litter picking and mindfulness (this was really good and added another little dimension to the experience) the group of six was split into advanced and beginner with two instructors. This was great and as complete beginners we were thankful we were in the starter group and everything was clearly explained and demonstrated.
We had about 2 and half hours in the surf and we were exhausted afterwards (probably shouldn't try and catch every wave next time).
It was a great positive 1st experience and we will be back next year hopefully! Obrigado!

We decided to meet with some friends at and Soul and Surf in August, and it was one of the best experiences since the moment I arrived. From the beginning, the friendliness of the staff makes you feel like you are home. The surf lessons are perfect, and I loved the mix of practice on the beach with theory in the afternoons. All the instructors are patient, they help you almost in a personalised way regardless of the number of people in the class, and they celebrate each of your achievements with you. The hacienda is lovely and has enough space to meet and chat with very interesting people or to enjoy the sun and the pool. Yoga classes are a great complement to end an intense day of surfing and feel like a new person the next day. During my stay, I slept in a private room that had everything I needed and was very comfortable. Finally, the food is delicious -although not being vegetarian and vegan, I would have loved to have a bit more animal protein. In summary, our stay in Soul and Surf has been so pleasant that we can't wait to return.

'Soul & Surf' embody their ethos of soul surfing. They have created a wonderful experience where you can enjoy surfing but also kick back, relax and breath a little easier. The food is super healthy and every meal was outstanding! I also appreciate and connect with their stance on ethical ways to live and serve the community. The surf and yoga instructors were so lovely and super helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble in regard to the rest of the team too. It has a real family feel to it. Becca was an incredible masseur and I am very grateful for that experience too. All in all, the whole trip was beyond expectations and I cannot recommend this place enough. I know I will be checking out their 'Surf & Soul' places in Sri Lanka and India too. Till next time! x

If you are looking for a place to recharge, nurture and nourish your soul and body this is THE place.
I am amazed by how revived I felt, how I was able to truly relax while also activating and strengthening my body in various ways and opening up to new experiences (I never surfed before). Who knew that yoga and surfing are such perfect complements to each other?
And, oh, the lovely people! Every single member of the Soul&Surf crew made me feel welcome, at home and at ease. There was room to chill, connect and have fun. Whether you're traveling solo or in company, your needs will be met. I feel like every person had something to offer and take home at the end of the week.
Also, I cannot write a review without shouting out the amazing food you get to enjoy every day!!!
I genuinely don’t exaggerate when I say I think about this place and the wonderful energy that the Soul&Surf family (they all feel like family now) brought me on a daily basis. The love and kindness is something that continues to inspire me and I intend to keep close to me always.

Soul and Surf is amazing on many levels. They have a wholistic approach to conservation, mental wellness and kindness which subtly runs through the daily activities. If you like fresh, wholesome healthy food, you are in for a treat. The food was outstanding. Thanks you so much to the kitchen staff, you blew me away everyday. Yum!!
I am an intermediate surfer already catching green waves; the surf coaches managed to cater for me as well as complete beginners. We all improved loads on our surfing with valuable tips and feedback from the video analysis.
Soul and surf seems to attract beautiful people from all over the word, we laughed lots and had a lot of fun together.
My room was perfect for the trip and the grounds are lush, green and colourful.

Such a brilliant (long) bank holiday weekend!
I stayed in room 8 for the first night which was lovely, then I spent the rest of the stay in one of the boutique tents with a friend which was great! (bring an eye mask and ear plugs)
The staff bent over backwards to help and were so fun and friendly.
The surf instruction was brilliant and rotated every day (the surf itself was perfect for my level - beginnerish) and I definately improved by the end.
I loved the yoga - that changed everyday too, so you get a real variety of classes. (Yin, vinyasa, power yoga, slow flow, meditation)
The balance of surfing, yoga and relaxing was spot on. I've been to other surf camps before which have been very full on and this was perfect. I felt relaxed and healthy by the end.
The food for me was absolutely stand-out (!) everything is cooked from scratch and utterly delicious, I hope they bring out the Soul and Surf cookbook soon!

The Soul and Surf team are one of the most professional yet approachable guest house/sport school teams I have come across. Their attention to detail means that you feel as if you are among family that has known you for years. Whilst I went as a solo traveller, I at no point felt alone. The day is balanced well between surfing and yoga with great opportunities for winding down and relaxing too. Soul and Surf was my highlight of 2019 I can't wait to return this year.

Which means you can truly switch off and trust that whatever it is you we’re looking for in coming here, you’ll likely find it. It’s a total relax for mind and body where you can unwind, safe in the knowledge that you’ll be fed nutritious food that’s still delicious, there’s things to do if and when you want them but there’s also plenty of time and space to happily do nothing if you prefer and there’s always great, like minded company around.
Our stay was above all peaceful, full of laughter and nourishing for the soul. Mornings spent surfing on beautiful coastlines (only one of us surfs so there’s no obligation if you don’t) , afternoons by the pool and evenings doing sunset yoga and eating amazing food with amazing people.
