We loved this place for its charm, location, views, and exceptional staff. The helpful tips and tricks on where to eat, tour and shop were valuable. Jessica, in particular was first rate. Lagos is our new go to place.
Absolutely gorgeous place with wonderful staff and a can't be beat location. We had a fantastic room with a balcony that overlooked the Atlantic. The concierge's were incredibly helpful making recommendations and going above and beyond booking multiple dinners and tours for us. We went to their favorite restaurants which didn't disappoint and saved us from having an hour + wait. Loved that the location was not on the main strip as that was a pretty lively and noisy area. Additionally, it was cool to walk the 5 minutes from the hotel to the strip to see a little more of the city. (The entire city is about a 15 minute walk from end to end, so you don't really need to be on the main strip to be in the best location. In fact, I would argue being where we are is better so you're not dealing with loud bars and lots of crowds.) Plus this location was right by the gorgeous beaches, and incredibly easy to access via car. Some of the more interior locations can only be accessed by foot and would require leaving your car a bit of a distance away or trying to navigate some streets made well before and without mind of a car. We took such advantage of all there is to do, we didn't utilize all of the amenities (such as the gorgeous pool, hot tub, etc.), but loved and fully utilized the bottle of wine they left for us in the room.…
We decided to meet in Portugal for a family holiday with one week in Lagos and several days in Lisbon. We all (9) stayed in Baluarte da Vila apartments in Lagos- best decision ever! It was a perfect location from which we could walk everywhere and still manage to find a parking spot for our two rental cars. The management staff were wonderful, helpful, friendly and kind to the children. The apartments were well equipped, with a small kitchen area and a nice balcony with table and chairs. the rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels as needed. We all felt completely safe and relaxed, There is also a nice swimming pool for guests. Front desk can help with booking rips and guides. grocery and launderette very close by. We highly recommend!!
The plus side: a lovely reception from Jessica, a convenient location to old town and the beaches (expect hillside walking), a superb view from the upper terrace and a complimentary bottle of wine. The downside: many stairs and no elevator, shabby rugs, beach towels and mattresses, uncomfortable pool lounges. This accommodation is on the verge of something great but it hasn’t happened yet. The bathrooms were very clean but other rooms seemed carelessly maintained, and the kitchen is underfurnished and outdated. Schlepping your luggage up and down the multi levels is really a pain in the shoulder. If you are challenged at all with walking this is not your best choice.
Just perfect ! The apartment was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated (simple decor and modern). The roof terrace and views were truly awesome (breakfast and pre dinner drinks up on the roof every day 😊). Reception staff lovely and helpful. Didn’t use the pool too much, as the beach was so close and suited us better. Very close to the town and beaches. Very highly recommend (as long as steps and hills don’t phase you !!)
