Our stay was good and the fact that the hotel was pet friendly proved to be a great option. They had welcome kits for the dogs and was very nice to have out pets with us. The negative impact was regarding the Tesla Destination Chargers as there were two Tesla charging points available and turned on but locked. Instead we were told we should charge in another charger which demanded a specific charging card and also the car charging cable. We chose this particular hotel for being a Tesla Destination charger and we’re disappointed when we were told these couldn’t be used although in perfect conditions

We had a room at a discounted rate because of a conference; this makes it easier for me to like the hotel. My wife was in the hotel more than I as a result, and she urges me to write a great review. For certain, the desk and waiting staff were super. I was less excited about the room. I though we were getting a king-sized bed; what we got were two singles pushed together. So, there was a crevasse between us at night. No big deal, but it's not what I had expected. The room was also slightly cramped, although nicely decorated and with a great view toward the center of the city. If it had rained during our stay, I am sure I would have felt a bit claustrophobic. The hotel is less than 5 minutes away from coffee and wine/beer cafes. It is also at most 12 minutes to the fish market where we found our favorite eating spots. It is about a 20 minute walk to the University.…

Modern and stylish outside, a little tired in places inside. Excellent value buffet food with a good choice. Breakfast good too. Away from the crowds but not far to walk in to the centre. Friendly staff.

Breakfast buffet was ample but was exactly the same every day. Extra charge of $12 euros per person per hour to use the pool/sauna, plus you have to reserve your hour in advance. Ridiculous to have a pool fee on top of a high room charge. Very clean, great shower. Nice location at the end of the river - be sure to take the roundtrip boat ride or just walk along the river to town the first chance you have!

We would like to inform you that we have available a large number of special programs and promotions that include the access to our Wellness Centre/Health Club. We understand that some guests expect that service to be free of cost, but as we don't have a big Health Club area and we need to insure the quiet and peacefulness required for our Spa area, that service is not included on the Bed&Breakfast rates to prevent a big and uncomfortable flow of guests. We are also working under a previous reservation system for that area, just to make sure that we respect the maximum lotation, as it would be impossible to have everybody feeling comfortable using the SPA at the same time. The modern cubicle architecture is impressive, but the walls are paper-thin, which means you are likely to be woken by your neighbour‘s snoring - if not, by the hard as a plank mattress. Enjoy… Staff are friendly which is a plus. The location is good, too.

We stayed 1 night at this lovely hotel, while on a cycling tour. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful, with many choices. The staff was friendly. Plenty of amenities.

Choose another hotel. Although they say this is in the city , it’s a fifteen minute walk. The rooms are spacious but towels are thin as can be. After showering the towel is wet and your body is not dry. Breakfast the food is below average undercooked eggs with no taste and baked not fried bacon as examples no fresh vegetables and bread that has no taste. There is an automatic coffee machine. The bar outside has better food. The spa is small and you must make a reservation even for very small pool and jacuzzi. Great city stay someplace else

I am really surprised to have seen a few negative reviews about this hotel and especially about the service. We had an excellent experience and we found all the staff - Front of House, bar staff and housekeeping were great. The Front of House staff always greeted us with a smile and did whatever they could to help us. We couldn't ask for more. I would definitely recommend Melia Ria and it will certainly be my first choice when I return.

The hotel is just ok, not to the standard of 4 stars The shower drain did not work , reported and after 1 day not taken care of. Sent laundry with extra payment for express delivery and after 24 hours laundry was not done, had to call and report several times about delay without success. Nobody knew or gave a solution about it. Hotel not recommended.

Unfortunately this hotel is absolutely atrocious, over priced and has appalling service. We paid for a deluxe room but it was so small, dark to the point that even with all the lights on you couldn't see anything in the wardrobe, and no sockets near any mirrors so if you like to style your hair and see what you are doing forget it. The spa is ok but on our first use there was a kids swimming lesson going on so all we could hear was shouting, then the second time the spa was full of kids screaming and when we complained they said they couldn't do anything. Unfortunately as this is the only big chain hotel on Aveiro it hasn't got any competition so doesn't care about standards. Please think twice about staying here as it's not worth the cost and you'd be better off looking at smaller boutique hotels in the area.…
