Just to echo the numerous other reviews on here, this place really Is a hidden gem! Great price, location and the friendliest owners/staff you will come across. We stayed in the pepper room which was great. Special thanks to Elsa and Mario for being so friendly, helpful and happy and making our stay a joy.

What a beautifully decorated B&B. We had a lovely large room (Pepper) with a good size balcony, a powerful shower. It was spotlessly clean and had a decent breakfast with something different every day, either cheese, cake, jams. There is a coffee machine which is free and a fridge with wine and beers which you pay for but at reasonable...

Very tastefully decorated rooms. Superb service and orientation to customer satisfaction. Attention to details that makes a difference. Homemade jam was super delicious, probably the best I have ever eaten in my life. Location very close to the center. Very Reasonable prices for the experience and what is is. I can only recommend.

What a beautiful place to stay in Cascais. Every room is different with beautiful decorations. The hosts Mario, Suzanne and Elsa made us feel at home. Mario was very helpful giving us lots of valuable information about were to visit in Portugal. We stayed there 2 nights before driving to the Algarve and enjoyed it so much that we booked...

We stayed at this guesthouse for three nights in December. It's a ten to twelve minute walk from the town centre up a hill. Ok in December but maybe not too comfortable in the heat of the summer. The guesthouse is located in a very quiet square within a very pleasant walled garden. The living area is very well furnished...

After walking up the hill in the heat of the day we reached the oasis of Alquimia. What a lovely house and room (we stayed in the Zen room), so clean and beautiful modern furnishings. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and we woke each morning to a delicious breakfast of homemade jams, fresh cheese and orange juice, coffee,...

Clean, friendly, quiet and modern guesthouse. Short working distance into the city centre, but breakfast is limited in variety and boring - nonetheless it is a great value for money and great people who were always ready to help with touring tips.

Alquimía lived up to all our expectations after reading the highly positive reviews and looking at the website. It really is a lovely house - spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and with a nice garden. There are also lots of added touches, such as the 'Senseo' coffee machine for guests (free of charge), beer and wine available for guests at extremely...

We stayed here for 3 nights earlier this month .. Mario with Lily and Sarah were so helpful .. the rooms are all differently beautifully decorated. They have bikes to rent and we rode to Guincho which was a real highpoint. There's a delicious plum tree in the walled-in garden and for breakfast there is a different baked goody each...

We have stayed for two nigths. This place is very cosy and has a perfect location (it is near the center of Cascais but is located in a quiet area). The house is beautifully decorated and we loved the balcony in our room (pepper room). We also loved the details that made all the difference: free cofee, tee, fruit and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located just 10 min walking from the town center, ocean and train station, a charming Guest House is opened in the coastal town of Cascais, Portugal. A traditional Portuguese villa from the 60's has been reconstructed and transformed into a cozy and contemporary home, with 5 suites and a pleasant outdoor leisure space. The desire to travel, to know new places, people and cultures, has always been one of our passions. This has led us to create a cozy and comfortable place that will make you feel at home while you discover and experience the best our region has to offer. From the furniture, which combines traditional and contemporary elements, to the small handcrafted decoration details, with items that have been repurposed, the idea of transformation is present. This philosophy gave rise to "Alchemy". ... more   less
