Had a few days holiday in Portugal - Susie was the perfect host. The location is spectacular and trips into Sintra on the tram take 30 mins and cost €3 The beach is a 2 minute walk, and surrounded by good restaurants What’s not to like - it was the perfect break

We needed a place to stay close to our daughter's apartment and to the beaches. Check! Perfect! We were also able to walk to several local areas to explore! The views of the ocean and mountains were spectacular. The delicious morning breakfast helped us start our busy day. Conversations with Susanna were pleasant and informative too. Seeing the horses each morning was a refreshing sight. The farm atmosphere and dogs reminded us of home.

Quinta Beira Mar is a pleasant place in a calm environment but just a few steps away from the more vibrant beaches. Good breakfast, good and affordable restaurants nearby...and more than enough to see in a short drive (Sintra, Cabo da Roca,...) or longer drive (Portinho da Arrabida for example). Susanna is a warm and welcoming host, who really loves and takes care of her animals. The perfect place for people who are looking for an authentic vibe!

Our family stayed with Susanna for a week and we had a wonderful time. This was mainly down to three things. Firstly, Susanna is a welcoming and attentive host, providing delicious breakfast spreads every morning (we only ate twice a day!). Secondly, the house and location are perfect - wonderful sea views, spacious clean rooms and large sandy beaches on the doorstep. Lastly, there are plenty of things to do in any weather. Sintra (by tram is a must!) is close and Lisbon is easily accessible. We had a hire car for our stay and left the car at Portela de Sintra station and got the train to Lisbon. Very cheap and stress free. The clifftop walks are also excellent and there are plenty of unassuming great value Portuguese restaurants, serving delicious fish and seafood to reward a day's hiking. The west coast of Portugal is a beautiful area and staying at Quinta Beira Mar was a real find - we highly recommend it. Thank you, Susanna!

This place was a dream to stay in! This bnb was recommended by some friends who live in the area and I went with a friend last week. We were welcomed by the charming English-speaking host Suzanna who showed us around her lovely fully refurbished family home and helpfully suggested bars, restaurants and directions to nearby sights. The room was lovely, well decorated and had a balcony overlooking the most amazing view of the ocean. The place is impeccably clean and the breakfast huge and included eggs from Suzanna's many chickens. We didn't try the horses, but will next time. Highly recommended.

This was the first of 5 places we stayed during our 2 week holiday and from the moment we arrived (by train/bus, easy & cheap trip from Lisbon airport) felt totally relaxed. Our host Susanna couldn't have been more helpful. The property is lovely and we had a great room and balcony with lovely views over the sea and towards the Pena Palace in Sintra. The nearby beaches were all lovely. We spent our time on long coastal walks which were beautiful. Great choice of restaurants within 5-20 minutes walk away. Would definitely stay again if in the area, and have already recommended it to friends.

It was a wonderful stay! Susanna is a very friendly, helpful, wonderful person who makes you feel like at home. The house is very relaxing and comfortable to stay and the location is great. The beach is just few steps away. There two others stunning beaches walking distance. Few restaurants walking distance as well. Stunning views, great hiking place! We took a hike all the way to Cabo da Roco which is the most western point of Europe. It took about 3 hours but the views were breath taking!!! It is very easy to get to historical part of Sintra, about 20 min by bus or a train. And also very easy to get to Lisbon. Susanna and Anna Lucia were very informative and always open to answer our questions and give us tips about the area. Thank you so much!!

Had a fantastic holiday at the Quinta. Susanna was extremely welcoming and informative and the room was lovely with a sea view balcony. There were also great breakfasts daily. There are three fabulous beaches within walking distance, two with lovely bars and some excellent restaurants, and you can also walk along the rambling coastal path to more remote spots if you don't mind a climb. Also a great spot to use as a base to visit the fabulous Sintra, as the tram runs from Praia de macas, and the red tourist hop on/hop off bus runs from Praia grande, via capa de roco. We loved our time there and hope to go back 😊.

The owner Suzanne was really friendly and helped us in the best possible way with tips about the area. The rooms are spacious en clean. The breakfast is a true delight with lots of choice and even eggs from Quinta Beira-Mar's own chickens :) At Quinta Beira-Mar you're only a 1-2 minute walk away from the beach. The main sites are close and easy to reach with own transportation, but I've been told it's also doable with public transport. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone from couples to family's.
