Among the cobble stone streets and beautifully colored tiled buildings you will find our hostel in the eclectic neighborhood of Graça. The neighborhood is centrally located but just outside the most touristic part of the city. Our guests can be close to all of the main attractions yet still return in the evening to a comfortable and cosy home away from home.

Where do I even begin? Clean. Beautiful. Safe. Great location. Great service. Aesthetically pleasing. This hostel was everything you would ever want and more! First of all it is sparkling clean! You feel as as if you are in a luxury hotel, they clean the bathrooms every day and it smells so fresh and clean after. Andrea and the rest of the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful. We changed rooms a few times to just try a new room out and they were always so kind and sweet. They were also so quick with communication and changes over WhatsApp. It is a family business and everyone that works here has been with the business for years and I will always come back here to this hostel because the prices are amazing, the location is in a very cute neighborhood with lots of cute cafes just down the street, the balcony was on a beautiful street out of a movie, you wake up to the sounds of birds chirping. It’s safe and close to any main attraction you need. You can take the tram to get anywhere or take an Uber which is always 10-15 minutes away from anything! Even walking distance you can get around everywhere. I will be back and I will bring my family back here. I love this place and loved supporting them! They made my trip ❤️

I rate it a 5 for the type of property it is. A hostel. It's not a 5 star hotel..but..it is quite functional for a friend's trip. We're on the move and need a place to sleep and shower.. and Poet's Inn served the purpose. Rooms are on the smaller side but so is the cost. We didn't use the kitchen much but a place to keep food and drinks cold is always appreciated. The terrace serves as a nice place for a moment of tranquility. Staff were always pleasant and always responded to messages/emails in a timely manner. Location is prettt decent with a variety of restaurants and a Lidl grocery store nearby. Around a 10- 15 minute walk to the touristy areas I most likely wouldn't use the property for a family trip or romantic weekend...but it served quite well for a buddy trip and I've happily recommend the property for budget travelers.

We visited this place last month. Had visited it before in the past but unfortunately it's changed; lacking in dealing with a person/human. Perhaps relying too much on codes and electronic keys?
We'd recommend it as a clean and really nice place to stay but check beforehand the cooking facilities that are functioning and if there's wifi throughout the building (if you need it but it's good to switch off too and read a book).
Great location. It's near really good down to earth local cafes and not far from supermarkets and metro.

Disappointing. That we booked a room with no en suite bathroom is not the hostel’s fault but the absence of anyone on the front desk for a large amount of any 24 hour period smacks of a happiness to collect the money but lay on only the most basic of services. The shared bathroom, according to the record pinned to the back of the door, was last cleaned several days before – although it was scrubbed well on the penultimate day of our stay – while the tap mechanism was infuriating – no hot water from the basin made shaving very awkward (lots of Portuguese men sport beards) and one has to continually press the button in the shower to keep the flow going. The location is good – very close to some very cool bars – 21 Gallas, Sputnik and Crew Hassan among them – as well as the wondrous Tram 28 that traverses the city. Any criticism of the service is directed at the owners and not the staff who were friendly and helpful - especially the very accommodating cleaner.

Gorgeous hidden away little hostel. Very picturesque with a lot of character and charm.

We had a top floor double room with an en suite. It was very “cosy” but given the size of the hostel it added to the character.

Unfortunately it just needed a bit of tlc. The toilet roll dispenser didn’t shut properly so it attacked you whilst sat on the toilet and in order to shower you had to repeatedly push in the button.

The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and had protective covers on, so was crunchy.

The Wi-Fi connections and facilities were excellent, location is spot on too, walking, tram and bus options close into the centre of Lisbon.

The kitchen area was nice and opened up into a balcony. Lovely for a morning coffee.

It’s all “self” check in so you could spend the whole time without being greeted by a host. Which, isn’t necessarily a bad or a good thing.

Stay was fine... You get what you pay for. Hostel is clean, building is lovely and old, rooms were small but functional and having a kitchen is a great feature. Internet good...Location was pretty good. Tram 28 literally outside the door. Central sites about a 15 min walk. Metro is about a 7 min walk. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but not always available... Office hours were sporadic.

We stayed for 3 nights and really liked it. It was clean, quiet, modern, the staff was friendly, the room was comfortable. The only thing we didn't like that much was the location but everything else was perfect. We definitely would recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Poets Hostel. Check-in was easy and the staff was very gracious. Breakfast was very tasty. Also, the hostel is not far from the airport or the main tourist areas. It really allowed us to immerse ourselves in Lisbon’s culture!

Really cannot get more central than Lisbon Poets Privates in Chiado. What an exciting city and magical Sintra. Okay it was basic enough with no tv, but that was fine. Place was comfortable, very affordable and reception was friendly. Plan to return some day.

I wish I could write a fully positive review of my stay here. While the flat was spacious, well-decorated, and charming, I was put off by a few things that could easily be improved by updating the website, providing more specific details about the flat, and showing the flat a little more TLC...In general, they need to improve their communication with guests.

First of all, I booked the flat through Poet's Hostel (as opposed to renting one on Airbnb) because I wanted to have some interaction and opportunities for socializing with other travelers. I also wanted to be able to ask reception for help if necessary. I'm a female solo traveler from NYC who has outgrown dormitory-style hostels. Poet's Hostel came highly recommended because of their group dinners and tours. When I arrived, the woman at reception was kind enough to let me check in early, which I greatly appreciated. She then informed me that group dinner were no longer offered. So why not update the website with this information? It seems like an easy feature to remove! The false advertising turned me off. I should also mention that prior to check-in, I'd received emails about check-in and towel rentals that contradicted each other (some emails are relevant only to those staying in the hostel itself--but why was I getting such emails)? They were so confusing that I had to contact the hostel while I was packing for my flight to ask them about towels...!

The flat is up three flights of stairs (no lift) but I'm used to walk-ups, and the young woman carried my luggage, which I appreciated. Not sure if they have this info about no lift on their site, Also, there is only A/C in the upstairs bedroom, which made the bathroom, kitchen, and living room stuffy and way too hot to enjoy during the day (I was there at the end of August). Secondly, all the lights (save one) in the downstairs area were out when I arrived, and it took them about a day or two to fix. During my entire stay, they couldn't figure out how to use the safe, where I wanted to keep my laptop. One woman said to use the key, the other said to use a code. But no one had time to show me (the key was impossible to turn) how to use it! Why have a safe if no one can use it?

Because the flat isn't located in the same building as the hostel, and there is no phone, communicating with reception can be a chore. You have to email them if you don't want to pay for data on your mobile. On the whole, reception seem stressed, understaffed, and often provide conflicting information. Here's what really upset me: I booked and paid for a one-day tour to Sintra on my second to last day in Lisbon. They told me the tour would run if enough people had signed up, and said they would email me if this was the case. I arrived the next day at 9:30 am, and told the woman I was there for the tour and that I'd be eating breakfast. Only when I came back to reception at 10 did she tell me the tour was cancelled. I said, "I wish someone had informed me," and her reply was: "I'm informing you now."

HOLD UP LADY. What she failed to understand is that when people fly across the ocean to visit a country for 5 days or so, they generally have a tight itinerary and plan for things they want to see. Sintra was high on my list of priorities; had I been informed that the tour wasn't running PRIOR TO THE DAY the tour was scheduled, I could have made other arrangements. How hard would it have been for someone to email me about this?? Her rudeness and inability to see the grave inconvenience she'd caused me was offensive. A simply apology would have been appreciated. She also didn't refund me the 40 euros I'd paid until I came back 5 minutes later. I ended up extending my stay in Lisbon but stayed somewhere else.

Finally, the flat is located directly across from (I think) a concert hall, which means unless you're out until 1 am every morning, you won't sleep thanks to the loud music.

I understand when services and rooms aren't top notch at establishments built for the traveler on a budget (after all, you get what you pay for). But courtesy and accuracy are free. Poets Hostel can improve in these areas.

No they don't have fans but in our room there was AC. I don't think you're gonna need it because Lisbon it's windy and a little bit cold. We asked them to turn it off every day ;)

No Lisbon Poets Hostel, tinha quarto com no mínimo quatro camas. Dependendo do período, nem todas ficam ocupadas. É tranquilo para hospedar-se com amigos. Os banheiros são coletivos.
