Very nice place, cosy, and very friendly staff organizing activities in the evening. The breakfast is just great (with pancakes or scrambled eggs cooked on demand) and included in the price ! We were staying in a room for 2 people with a king-size bed. The common area is very cosy. The location is perfect, you can walk to all...

Very nice hostel in downtown Lisbon. The view from the room is perfect (so you forget about the nightly noise cars and buses driving around the sqare make). The saff is very helpful and cool. Nice breakfast, kitchen and the couch area to hang out. Our tripple room had old beds, maybe this part still has room for improvement. Thanks...

Rossio Hostel's the most incredible hostel I've ever seen! Everything is perfect! It's located in the city centre. Metro station's 30 seconds far from the hostel. At the same distance there's a supermarket...and the tastiest Ginjinha is too close not to have it anytime! We payed about 20€ per person per night, and I think it's super-cheap. I know that...

Very nice hostel in the centre of Lisbon, rooms (twinbed) feel more like hotel-rooms with great view over the city and comfortable beds; to share the clean bathroom was no problem at all! We stayed for 4 nights and spend 3 of them with the staff - they really had a "freakin' amazing" (Silvy, do you mind if i quote...

Here you have everything you need in a hostel. The location is perfect. When you leave the airport you can take the Aerobus and drop at Rossio square stop bus. The hostel is just 1 minutes by walk. Near the Rossio square you can take the yellow bus. This bus goes to all landscape in lisboa. People in the Rossio...

Cozy place in the hearth of Lisbon. The dorms face directly the main square, and so a little bit noisy during night but nothing tragic. The nice and warm sun of Portugal gets through the windows every morning making you revive the atmospheres described in the novels of Tabucchi. Very friendly hosts make you feel welcome in this very comfortable...

I stayed there for 4 nights and this hostel has made my trip a real good one. Really welcoming, they plan typical things from portugal for some of the evening and make a real good atmosphere in the living room which allow us to meet the other travelers. For sure if i come back to lisboa i would go back...

It really was. Stayed for 5 nights in mid-October. Fantastic helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms and bathrooms, lovely communal atmosphere, kitchen with everything you could possibly want. Would recommend their Fado music nights out in particular. Also very cheap at that time of year. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough.

We stayed in a private room, we were travelling with 3 persons so we got a room with an extra bed. Best option if you stay in Lisbonne, very cheap and a very nice stay! - Great location, next to the train and metro stations - Friendly staff, always willing to help you out - Rooms are small but that's...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
